Patrica A. Sobcoviak climbed the golden stairway into Jesus' arms in the early morning hours of September 4, 2024. She was surrounded by her husband and children in her home as she gave up her quick but valiant battle with Stage 4 cancer. Patty, as her parents and family members would come to call her, was born to Edgar and Lola Rehder on December 31, 1943 in Moorhead, MN. Her birth would grant her Dad a three month F4 pass before leaving for two an half years for WWII. Patty would be raised by her mother and her small town community until his return. Shortly after his return, Patty would gain a little brother, Loren and eventually little sister, Judi. When Patty, was 14 she moved from Avril, MN a town of 14 homes to Nordeast Minneapolis. She and her family finally had indoor plumbing. Yes, that's right. Until she was 14, she would have to haul buckets of water home for cooking and cleaning and use an outhouse. Patty would attend and graduate from Edison High School. After graduation, Pat would have a short marriage which would leave her the life-long blessings of her daughter and son, Sandra and Daniel. While working as a waitress, to raise her new little family, she would meet her soulmate, Robert, aka Bob. They would marry and round out their family with their daughter, Sara. They would spend the next 53 years together joined at the hip. They made sure to never go to bed mad and the only nights they would spend apart was when one or the other was in the hospital. During their 53 years together, they loved to go out dancing on the weekends and to the homes of friends and family for parties, not only to celebrate life events but also just plain mischief as a break from working hard and raising their kids. However, Pat also threw some amazing parties herself. She loved to entertain her friends and family. Pat loved to have a good time. They would travel to visit her brother, Loren around the US while he served in the Air Force. But mostly vacations would be taken for a week in the summer to a lake resort in northern Minnesota to rest, relax and fish. Eventually, vacations would be more exciting with a couple Caribbean cruises and trips to Las Vegas. But as the years went on, she and Bob would enjoy a quieter life. Their days would be filled with sitting at the kitchen table with Patty playing solitaire while Bob played on his Ipad and the tv droned on in the background. There would be visits to the adult day care center, otherwise known as Jackpot Casino. And the mischief managed parties of yore would turn into family gatherings to celebrate family events and holidays. Pat's life, love and hobbies centered around her family and friends. Pat was preceded in death by her adoring parents Edgar and Lola Rehder and brother Loren Rehder. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Robert Sobcoviak; children, Sandra (Phil) Nelson, Daniel Meagher, and Sara (Joe) Van Eyll; sister, Judith (Bruce) Saba and sister-in-law Sandra Rehder. Pat also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and even great great grandchildren. She also leaves behind nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Pat is greatly loved and will be incredibly missed.
