Patricia "Pat" Ann Rausch

Patricia Ann (nee Wehlage) Rausch, 90, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family in Edina, MN, on July 1, 2025. She was born on January 6, 1935, in Melrose, MN, and was a devoted daughter, caring sister, loving wife, cherished matriarch, beloved aunt, and dear friend. Patricia grew up on the Wehlage farm near Meire Grove, MN. She graduated from Melrose High School in 1952 before moving to attend St. Cloud Business College and launching a career in accounting. In 1958, Patricia married her sweetheart, Stan Rausch, whom she met at the New Munich Ballroom. They celebrated their 67th anniversary on June 14. They raised three daughters and filled their thirteen homes throughout Minnesota with love and cherished memories. Patricia and Stanley inspired a love of learning through conversation, reading, travel, music, theater, and sports. Patricia served as a role model for her daughters with a long successful career, specializing in payroll accounting. Outside of work, she delighted in baking, cooking, documenting family history, quilting, reading, sewing, traveling across the United States and abroad, and visiting family and friends. She was an avid Twins and Vikings fan. Patricia extended hospitality to many, cherishing family gatherings, planning dinners with friends, providing baked goods for celebrations, and sending care packages through the mail. She is survived by her beloved husband Stan; daughters, Carole Tholen, Lori Rausch, and Julie (Tom) Rossman; grandchildren, Jonathan (Sarah), Michael, Jordan, Melissa (Jon), and Maddox; step-grandchildren, Amy (Greg) and Andrea (Josh); great-grandchildren, Elliot, Alexander, and Samantha; and step-great-grandchildren Cody, Ty, Finn, and Greta. She also leaves behind her brother Vern (Jane), sisters-in-law Joyce, Tillie, and Eileen, brother-in-law Matt (Ann) and many loving nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Mary (Ostendorf) Wehlage; her husband's parents, Mathias and Alvina (Jonas) Rausch; sisters Karen and Bernice; brothers Werner, Elmer, Raymond, and Norman; sisters-in-law Norma and Joan; and brothers-in-law Virgil and Robert. A celebration of Patricia's life will be held on Thursday, July 17, at St. Odilia Catholic Church in Shoreview, MN. Visitation begins at 10:00 am, followed by a Mass at 11:00 am. A luncheon will be served afterward. As a tribute to Patricia, please consider wearing blue to her service. Private interment will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date.
