Patricia Margarit

Margarit, Patricia A. of Chanhassen, MN. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great- grandmother, was called home by her Heavenly Father on June 26, 2011 at the age of 84 following a long struggle with Alzheimer's Disease. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Martin Lynch & Anne Lynch Richdorf; stepfather, Dr. Lawrence Richdorf and sister, Eileen Bortolussi. She is survived by her loving husband, Dominic; children, Joe (Patty), Michele (Scott) Hansen, Annette, Tom (Tami), Greg (Julie), Kevin (Carol) and Denise (Peter) Westerhaus; 23 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and her brother, James Lynch. Pat was born in International Falls, MN and grew up in Thunder Bay, Ontario. She lived for many years and raised her family in Richfield, MN, where she was very active at St. Peter's Catholic Church and The Academy of Holy Angels. Pat was a woman of strong faith which she instilled in her children. She was a very generous, loving person who treated everyone with kindness. As a former teacher, she emphasized the importance of a solid education and inspired her children to become lifelong learners and to seek excellence in all of their endeavors. Her true joy was spending as much time as possible with her family and she especially delighted in the company of her grandchildren in her later years. She loved hosting parties to celebrate birthdays, holidays and any other occasions that brought her family together. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her. Visitation on Wednesday, June 29, 5:00-8:00 pm at Washburn-McReavy Eden Prairie Chapel, 7625 Mitchell Road, Eden Prairie. Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, June 30, at 11:00 am, with visitation one hour prior at St. Hubert's Catholic Church, 8201 Main St., Chanhassen. Private family interment at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Academy of Holy Angels High School, 6600 Nicollet Ave S., Richfield, MN 55423 or Total Life Care Centers, 525 Thomas Ave., St. Paul, MN 55103. We especially wish to thank the staff of Emerald Crest of Victoria and the Allina hospice nurses for the love and care they showed to Pat and our family over the past several years.
