Patricia Ann Kipka

(nee Kunz)Age 67 of Shoreview. Cherished and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Pat went peacefully and with grace on August 8, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Pat is preceded in death by her parents George and Mary Kunz, sister-in-law Jane Kunz and life-long friend Jane Anderson. Pat is survived by her beloved husband Michael of nearly 45 years; her adoring children, Lisa (Matthew) Ganyaw, John (Natalie), and Mary (Patrick) Ganyaw; 9 precious treasures, her grandchildren Morgan, Samuel, Ellen, Lucas, Katelyn, Mitchell, Nathan, Cameron and Zachary who loved and adored her to the moon and back; siblings, Kathleen (Doug) Schwartz, George Kunz, and James (Beth) Kunz as well as nieces, cousins, adoring godfather John Connelly and countless friends. Pat grew up in St. Paul attending Holy Childhood grade school, St. Agnes high school and went on to attend Anoka Ramsey Nursing school. Her desire and willingness to help others led her to a proud and dedicated 43 year career in nursing at United Hospital in St. Paul. Pat knew how to dispense comfort, compassion, and caring without even a prescription.Pat takes enormous pride in her family and is often found enthusiastically supporting any and all of their activities and accomplishments. Among her many passions in life, traveling is one of them, most recently taking her family on a dream vacation to Florida. Proud of her Irish heritage Pat traveled to Ireland on different occasions with friends and family and marched in countless St. Patrick's Day parades here in St. Paul. Pat's love of the outdoors led her on many hikes, especially her beloved North Shore trails, beach vacations and a special gift for gardening, putting together her exceptional spring and holiday pots for family and friends every year. Among her many gifts is her ability to make people laugh. People are drawn to her unique sense of humor and her ability to make you feel like you were the only person in the room. Pat truly is a gem, a one-of-a-kind who touched so many lives with her love, her compassion, her legendary sense of humor, her friendliness, and her charisma and love for life. Her legacy will continue in her children and grandchildren who are so blessed and honored to call her Mom and Grandma .... In our hearts forever, we love you always.The hills are definitely alive with the sound of Pat's music ...
