Patricia Anne Ehrman (Marko)

Pat Ehrman, a longtime resident of the Little Sisters of the Poor Holy Family Residence in St. Paul, MN, passed away on Monday, August 21, 2023 at age 86. Pat was born in Minneapolis on September 10, 1936 to Andrew and Anastasia (nee McShea) Marko and grew up in St. Paul, MN. Pat is survived by her children John Ehrman, Bradenton, FL, Fr. Dale Ehrman, Fishers, IN, Judy (Phil) Haight, Rochester, MN, Nita (Dave) Ettinger, Sarasota, FL, Therese (Mike) Gahler, Woodbury, MN and Dr. Rosalie Perpich, Woodbury, MN; grandchildren Michael (Kelly) Torrez, Thomas Torrez, Kristine Jegede, Laurén Ettinger, Katie Hallum, Rob (Kelsie) Treichel, Will Perpich and Andrew Perpich; as well as great-grandchildren. Her surviving siblings are: Catherine Ryan, Roseville, MN, Mary Lou (Dick) Moudry, Nisswa, MN, Dick (Mary Lou) Marko, Wichita, KS, Mike (Barb) Marko, Shoreview, MN and sister-in-law Ruth Marko, White Bear Lake, MN. She is also survived by her aunts Mary Jolly, Cherokee Village, AK and Doris McShea, Cottage Grove, MN, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceding her in death are her parents Andy and Anne, brother Tom Marko, and brothers- in-law, Tom Ryan and Jim Welch. Pat is remembered for her laughter, generosity and creativity. Being a mother was her deepest desire and central vocation. Creating a home and raising children were the focus for many years. Working outside the home full time came in mid-1970's with her job in Minneapolis at Munsingwear. In 1985 she was employed at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Brooklyn Center as cook for the Redemptorist priests and brothers who served there. Her homemade meals were the envy of many. Pat retired in 2002. She enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren in retirement and was involved in the Brooklyn Center Women's Club. In 2013, when she needed assisted living, she moved into the Holy Family Residence and home of the Little Sisters of the Poor in downtown St. Paul. Her generosity and creativity continued as she made countless crafts and sold them in support of the Little Sisters' homes in other countries. Catholic faith, prayer and receiving the Sacraments were central in her life. Pat was always active in her parish, participating in adult education programs and volunteering. She befriended various religious sisters over the years. She felt particularly blessed to be able to spend her last years at Holy Family Residence where she could attend Mass each day. Visitation Sunday, August 27 from 4:00 - 6:00 PM at Holcomb-Henry-Boom-Purcell Funeral Home, 515 Highway 96 West, Shoreview MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, August 28, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. Odilia Catholic Church, 3495 Victoria St. N., Shoreview MN with visitation one hour prior and luncheon to follow.
