Orest Peter "Pete" Korsunsky

Orest Peter "Pete" Korsunsky, of Columbia Heights, MN passed away at the age of 65 on Friday, January 17, 2025 in Minneapolis, MN. Son of Irma and Jerry Korsunsky, he was born on June 16, 1959 in Minneapolis, MN. He was preceded to heaven by his father Yaroslaw Korsunsky, maternal grandparents Ivan and Anna Mashtalir, paternal grandparents Alexander and Zina Korsunsky, and his beloved grandson Alexzander Romero Korsunsky. He is survived by his mother Irma Korsunsky, children; Tina Korsunsky Romero (Erwin), Stephanie Menesi (Tarek), Sister; Roxanne Panser (Steve), and 4 grandchildren with a 5th one on the way; Maxwell Romero Korsunsky, Zakariah Romero Korsunsky, Brooklyn Menesi, Mia Romero Korsunsky and Baby Boy Menesi arriving in June, nephews; Jacob and Alec Panser. Pete was a deeply loved Tato "dad", Dido "grandpa," uncle, brother, and friend. His passing was sudden and extremely painful for the ones who loved him the most. While we lost our Tato, many have lost a dear friend and loved one in him. He has been a rock to many, a master of sarcastic humor and witty timing to others, he was a friend to all because no matter what happened between you in your lives, once you were marked as important to him, he'd be by your side if you needed him. There was so much more to him than just being a Tato, though to us that was his greatest roll - he was also a handyman, mechanic, animal lover, Harley Davidson enthusiast, a huge Vikings fan, and a proud Ukrainian. Peter was a strong, kind, loving, and supportive Tato and Dido. His knowledge and guidance was the foundation of his family. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. He was endlessly proud of his daughter's, Tina and Stephanie - always supporting them in anything and everything they have ever accomplished. Being a grandpa came naturally to Peter. His grandkids loved his kisses, hugs, and all the attention he gave them- he also was the primary "fixer" of all their broken toys. They were truly his pride and joy. Funeral services will be held at St. Katherine's Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Arden Hills, MN on Saturday January 25, 2025 visitation at 10:00am and funeral to begin at 11:00am. Interment immediately following the service at Hillside Cemetery in Minneapolis. Following the interment, a reception will be held at St. Katherine's Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
