Nancy Ann Seeley

Nancy (Sparks) Seeley, went peacefully home to heaven on May 10, 2024, at the age of 89. Her funeral will be held on Monday, June 3, 2024 at 10:30 AM with visitation one-hour prior at Washburn-McReavy Funeral Home (2300 Old Shakopee Road) in Bloomington. Nancy's grandchildren will act as pallbearers. She will be laid to rest at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at 1:00pm. On April 27, 1935, Nancy was born to parents Ralph and Grace Sparks. Nancy grew up in south Minneapolis with her 2 sisters, Pat and Barbara. Nancy was active in her Girl Scout troop for many years. As a troop they took several out of state trips. She enjoyed spending time with all her friends. After graduating from high school, Nancy went "out east" and attended LaSell Junior College in Boston. She received her associates degree in Retailing Curriculum. After graduating she moved back to Minneapolis. Nancy met her loving husband, Rex in Minneapolis and married on June 22, 1957. After marrying they moved to Chicago, where they made many long time friends. Their first daughter Denise was born in Chicago. A few years later they moved back to Minneapolis where their second daughter Kim was born. Shortly after Kim was born they bought a home in Bloomington, where she remained for the next 38 years. In 2019 she moved to Menomonee Falls, WI. Nancy worked at Benson Optical where she was a receptionist and stylist for 15+ years. After retiring from Benson's she went to work for the Embassy Suites serving breakfast and doing numerous sewing repairs. When she wasn't working Nancy loved watching soap operas, she enjoyed playing cards, went to "Club", and spent time with her children and grandchildren. Nancy thoroughly enjoyed many family trips to New England and Florida. Whether in the pool, on her driveway or on a beach she loved basking in the sun. Nancy's favorite time of the year was Christmas. She always had a real tree that needed to be tied to the ceiling so it wouldn't fall over. Oftentimes the tree was so large it left very little room to move about the living room. Nancy's favorite tree was the white Santa Tree with all her pink Santa ornaments. After many years the tree changed into a pastel Santa tree (there are only so many pink Santas available). Nancy will be remembered always by her loving children, Denise (Brent) McKennon; Kim (Donald) Robinson; grandchildren, Amanda McKennon, Derick (Jeannie) McKennon, Sam (Sarah) McKennon, Amber Robinson, Douglas Robinson and Hailey McKennon; great-grandchildren, Kaylee McKennon, Sophie McKennon and Baby Girl McKennon; sisters Patricia (Gary) Teel and Barbara (Wendell) Newgaard and other loving relatives and many dear longtime friends. Nancy was greeted in Heaven by her husband, Rex Seeley and parents, Ralph and Grace Sparks.
