Nancy Jean Johnson

Nancy (Potter) Johnson passed away August 25, 2023 in her home in Riverview Florida surrounded by her family. Nancy was 78 years old. Nancy was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on October 1, 1944. She graduated from Minnetonka High School 1962. She met Randy during high school and was married March 23, 1963. Nancy graduated from an Art Technical School in Shreveport, LA and worked in the art department at the Shreveport Times. Nancy became the Art Director for a few years until we moved to Florida in 1987. Nancy was an amazing artist and focused a lot on watercolor. She worked many art fairs around the Tampa Bay area selling her art. She also did custom watercolor portraits of peoples pets. Nancy's craft lives on in many homes. In addition, Nancy was an accomplished landscaper for her homes and thoroughly enjoyed cooking. Nancy was everything art. And always wanting to get her Family together. Nancy is survived by her 5 kids and their significant others; Mark (Kelly), Paul (Cyndi), Chris (Jan), Greg (Barb), Mitch (Cynthia), Brother Larry Potter (Wisconsin,) her sister, Jill Conson (Florida.) Nancy also leaves behind 13 grand kids and 6 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her beloved pets; Teddy, her puppy and Skipper, her bird for over 32 years. Nancy is preceded in death by her husband of over 40 years, Randy Johnson, her granddaughter, Emily, her sister, Judy, her parents, Harold and Lorraine Potter and her grandparents Florence and Newt Potter of Owatonna, MN. Florence and Julius Olson of Minneapolis, her in-laws Marjorie and Ronald Johnson and all the family members we enjoyed our times with throughout the years. Our mom worked hard for our family working to keep us 5 kids fed, healthy and happy. She was married to our dad (Randy Johnson) for over 40 years. There was nothing they could not work through together and were a role model to us all. Our mother will be dearly missed.
