Nancy Camille Dornbach

Nancy Camille Dornbach (Anderson), of Edina, passed away surrounded by family on November 1, 2024, at the age of 87. Nancy was born in Virginia, MN in 1937 & raised on the Iron Range. She lived in Montgomery, MN thru high school, moved to Detroit, MI with her family & attended Henry Ford School of Nursing, graduating as an R.N. Nancy married Steve in 1960 & after he completed grad school at the University of Notre Dame, they started their lives together in Toledo, OH. In 1964, they moved to St. Paul, MN & lived in Nativity parish for 21 years. They loved their years in St. Paul, all the friends made there as well as the many friends & good times during their remaining years in Edina, MN. Nancy also enjoyed her many years as an R.N. at the U of MN Eye Clinic. 'Nanny' was a caring & devoted mother & the loudest supporter of her kids & grandkids. She loved decorating, antiquing, Notre Dame football weekends, shared family times, walks on the beach in Florida & she made the best meatloaf you've ever eaten! Always one to make any occasion special, she went out of her way to provide meals & support for family & friends when the need arose, was always a phone call away for advice & guidance & found great comfort in praying the Rosary. Nanny recently commented on how much she valued the "little" things in life that brought her the most joy & where she could be found at her best. Preceded in death by parents, Melvin George "Muxie" & Carmela Anderson of Edina, MN. Survived by loving husband of 63 years, Steve; children, Monica (Dave) Munson, Michele (Will) Murray, Melissa (Sean) Murray, Steve (Amy) Dornbach, Sarah (Zac) Rice; thirteen grandchildren, Kate & Jack Munson, Maddie (Zack) Hyatt, Julian (Lacey) Murray, Lauren (Tyler) Griebel, Carmela & Victor Murray, Meaghan & Kathryn Murray, George Dornbach & Genevieve Kalland, Lucy Dornbach & Camille & Luca Rice; five great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Noah, Joey & Elena Wenzel & Olivia Griebel; sister, Sylvia Jeanne (Anderson) Dornbach; brother, Tom (Patty) Anderson; numerous nieces & nephews; and many special life-long friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will eventually take place at the University of Notre Dame. Join us for a Celebration of Life on Friday, November 15, at 2 PM, with visitation one hour prior, at Washburn-McReavy Edina Chapel, 5000 W 50th St, Edina, MN 55436.
