Nancy Ann Blomgren

Nancy Ann Blomgren was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She passed away peacefully on February 15, 2023 at age 82. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wayne Blomgren, her parents, Lillian and Francis Lyons, her sister Betty Walsh and her brother Bob Lyons. She is survived by her daughter, Kristin Scherwinski (Adam) and grandchildren, Willow, Elijah, and Lilia, and stepchildren Scott Blomgren (Jennifer), Sue Carlson, Jana Amsrud(Kim), Joel Blomgren (Belinda), and grandchildren, Brienne, Barrett, Evynne, and Andrew, as well her much loved nieces and nephews, cousins and many dear friends. She was born in Minneapolis on July 26, 1940. She spent her childhood in NE Minneapolis and later moved to Robbinsdale, where she graduated from Robbinsdale High School. She spent her working years at Hosterman Jr. High as an administrative assistant. After retiring from the school district, she worked for Mervyn's, and then Target. After retiring, again, she worked for her church, Lutheran Church of the Master. Once she finally retired, for good, she spent her time delighting in her grandchildren and enjoying the company of the many lifelong friendships she was blessed to have. She loved to sing, sew, play cards, travel, and read. She loved her "zoo" as she referred to all of her cats and dogs. She loved Goldens and volunteered with Helping Paws for many years. Mostly she loved being with people she loved. She led a life of service, her greatest strength was her empathy and compassion. She would not hesitate to offer support, kindness, and friendship to anyone in need. She was independent, and a survivor. She had tremendous faith and never gave up in the face of adversity. She was a light in this world and will be deeply missed. A funeral service is scheduled for March 24, 2023 at Lutheran Church of the Master, 1200 69th Ave N, Brooklyn Center. A visitation will start at 1:00, service at 2:00. Please stay for refreshments following the service at 3:00.
