Gioan Lê Pham Minh

Gioan Lê Pham Minh, 77, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, October 3, 2024. Born on February 4, 1947, in Nam Dinh, Ha Noi, Vietnam, Minh was a devoted husband and a loving father and grandfather. Minh was ambitious, hardworking, and fearless. In 1975, he escaped the fall of Vietnam and safely brought his young family to the United States. He was the first refugee in Brooklyn Park, MN. He set roots there for himself and his family as he began his new life. He worked several jobs, learned English, went to school, and together with his wife, Phi, saved enough money to buy a house in just 2 years after moving to the U.S. He also sponsored many relatives and friends and helped them setup their lives in America. He started his career at FMC Corporation, a military contractor and later became a successful entrepreneur owning several businesses in the U.S. and Vietnam. Despite his many responsibilities, he always made time for his family and the Vietnamese community. He organized camping trips, fun games, and many celebrations to show his support, dedication, and commitment for community. He was a man of integrity, kindness, generosity, and he left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. We find comfort in knowing that his legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared, and the memories we will cherish forever. Preceded in death were parents Lê Pham Dinh and Lê Thi Mien; He is survived by his wife Lê Dinh Phi and children Marie Nesheim (John), Anne Perkins (Scott), Khue Lê (Kelly), David Lê (Michelle) and Rosemary Heide. Grandchildren Sarah, Hannah, Eve, Chris, Emma, Brock, Theodore, Eleanor, Tim (Vy), Cooper, Ethan, Tyson and Jude. Sister, Lê Thi Nhung (Tran Công Toan, preceded in death), brother Lê Pham Dong (Lê Thi Hang), and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A wake will be held on Sunday, October 13th, at Washburn-McReavy Edina Chapel, 5000 W 50th St. Edina, MN. Prayer Hour 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., Visitation 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 15th, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 16311 Duluth Ave SE, Prior Lake, MN.
