Michael Gene Geldert

Michael Gene Geldert 4-9-58 ~ 3-15-18 Michael passed away peacefully in his sleep. He is preceded in death by his father, Ronald, and long time love, Terri McAndrews. Mike is survived by his children, Matthew and Amanda (Nick Pielert); Mother, Marlene Geldert; and sisters Lynn (Myke) Miller, Jill (William) Cook, Barbara, and many other friends and family. A memorial service is being planned. If interested contact Amanda at aegeldert@hotmail.com. A remembrance of Mike, written by his daughter Amanda: Today I lost my dad. Everyone thinks their dad is invincible. And despite everything my dad threw in life’s face, he too was invincible for me. Unfortunately, I found out, even he can be taken away from me. In the past few months, my dad seemed the happiest he’s been since Terri passed away, nearly nine years ago. He was chatty, smiling, excited about his new job, and proud of his kids. He was coming back out of his shell and trying to show people how great he was doing. He was happy to spend time and share his great sense of humor with the family, play silly games, and spend time with friends playing cards, cribbage and horse shoes. He was also one of the best pool players I knew, no bias on my part. Music was also a big part of my dad’s life. He loved to play, listen to, and watch music whenever he had a chance. He liked blues music most, however he knew a lot about a variety of music. I know this personally, because he gave me his entire record collection a couple of years ago. My dad was really smart. He was good at trivia too. However the part I was most impressed with was his knowledge of math. He could figure out most any math question you gave him. He knew a lot about geography and history too. It was impressive how much he knew. It’s devastating to lose someone so unexpectedly. I’m so sad and heartbroken. I hope he is doing well and is happy. He is finally able to be back with Terri, which I’m sure makes him very happy. He is also able to see his dad again too, which would also make him happy. I know he will always be around and looking out for his loved ones, but selfishly I would prefer him to be physically here with me. I love him and will miss him very much.
