Michael Anthony Emmerich

Michael Anthony Emmerich Age 52, born in Minneapolis, MN, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2025, surrounded by his family after a long battle with Glioblastoma (brain cancer). He is preceded in death by his parents, Claude Emmerich and Jan Emmerich (nee Skold). He is survived by his wife Star Emmerich, his daughter Madelynn Montes (nee Emmerich) (Leo), his siblings Christine Jahn (David), Jon Emmerich (Alison), Cindy Wilson (Brent Lindenberg), nieces Misha Simons (Dan), Whitney Agaga (Alex Erickson), Locklyn, and nephews Cullin Wilson, Cal Wilson, Roen Emmerich, and many aunts and uncles. He is also survived by his stepchildren Miatta Gatawah, Sebastian Kardor, and stepgrandchildren Zariah, Zuri and his Mother-in-Law Mary Jackson. Michael spent the last four months of his life in hospice with his Daughter Madelynn as his Caregiver and Caretaker living with his brother Jon and his family. He also received excellent hospice care in the last month of his life at Our Lady Of Peace (Saint Paul, MN). Mike grew up in Coon Rapids, biking and doing tricks off ramps around with his friends. He had a love for BMX bikes; collecting and putting them together as a hobby. He also loved to collect and wear sports memorabilia. He was an avid softball player, enjoyed golfing and fishing with friends, and took much pride in his work. He was self-employed with his own business for 32 years working as a home painter. In his later years, he moved into siding remodels. Mike loved music, sports, antiquing, traveling, and being outdoors. He had a gentleness about his spirit and a quirky loveability about him that everyone adored and embraced. He often shared the sweetest sentiments with the people he loved. Michael and his wife Star enjoyed family time together. He loved his stepgrandchildren, in particular, who loved to dance and play hide-and-seek together. He was blessed to have three wonderful siblings whom he loved very much. Michael also had a wonderful group of friends who brought so much fun and happiness into his life, and he is grateful for them all. One of his last fun memories was going to a Vikings Football game this last December with his brother and his family. His greatest accomplishment was his daughter Madelynn. He was able to travel to Northern California for her wedding and walk her down the aisle in 2022, which he took much pride in. Funeral services are on Friday, March 28, 2025 at The Church of The Epiphany in Coon Rapids, Minnesota. Visitation begins at 9:30 am.
