Oldham, Marylyn Ruth After a courageous battle with breast cancer and acute leukemia, Marylyn has gone home to be with her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. She passed away peacefully July 30, 2011 at the N.C. Little Hospice Home, Edina, MN. Marylyn was born January 2, 1933 in Lewiston, Maine, the second of three daughters to Charles and Ruth Chase. She was educated in the Auburn, Maine public school system, graduating from Edward Little High School in 1952. She attended Westbrook Junior College, Portland, Maine and married her childhood sweetheart, Kenneth Oldham, December 1, 1956. Together they established their home in several places, moving to Bloomington, MN in 1984. Her God, her family, her friends and her home were the most important things in her life. Marylyn loved to cook, tend to her garden and flowers, and help those less fortunate than she. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker in the truest sense of the words. Marylyn was a long-time member of Normandale Hylands United Methodist Church. Marylyn was preceded in death by her mother and father and brother-in- law, Edward Oldham. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth, of 54 years; daughter, Jennifer Fennell, Grosse Pointe Farms, MI; son, Thomas (Kelly) Oldham, Portage, MI; sisters, Lucille Oldham, Auburn, ME and Beverly (Romeo) Taylor, Hampton, NH; grandchildren, Allison, Kevin and Brian Fennell, Grosse Pointe Farms, MI, Kathryn and Jennifer Oldham, Portage, MI and several nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends. Her memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2011 at Normandale Hylands United Methodist Church, 9920 Normandale Boulevard, Bloomington MN 55437 with visitation one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to AfricaUplifted (The Doris Acton UMC Medical Clinic in Sierra Leone) or to N.C. Little Memorial Hospice, Inc.
