Mary Lou Klassy

Donald and Mary Lou Klassy of Wayzata, Minnesota went home to be with their Lord and Savior. Donald Frederick, age 88, passed from this life to the next on August 12, 2020, surrounded by the love of his son, Paul at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. Mary Lou, age 87, passed from this life to the next on September 13, 2020, surrounded by the love her son, Paul and Ivona Miszewski at NC Little Hospice in Edina, Minnesota. Donald was born April 27, 1932 in Le Roy, Minnesota, the son of Frank R. and Esther A. (Lamon) Klassy. He was a graduate of the University of Minnesota and served as a Business Manager for Osseo School District 279, retiring in 1993. Mary Lou was born October 29, 1932 in Cresco, Iowa, the daughter of Nels John and Ruth M. (Whipple) Jensen. She was a graduate of the University of Minnesota and served as a Home Economics teacher in the St. Louis Park School District, retiring in 1991. Together, Donald and Mary Lou were devoted members of Colonial Church, in Edina. They enjoyed their passion for travel, Golden Gopher football, Golden Gopher basketball and spending winters in Naples, Florida with family and friends. They were united in marriage on August 20, 1955 at the First Presbyterian Church in Le Roy, Minnesota. They are survived by their son, Paul (Ivona Miszewski), grandchildren Kyle Joseph (Caitlin) Klassy, Matthew Robert and Jenna Elizabeth (Alexander Aman). Donald is also survived by his brother, Robert Klassy and sister, Jeanne O'Connell. A celebration of life service will be held Wednesday, September 16 at 10am at Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis. The service will be held outdoors and led by Jeff Lindsey, Senior Minister of Colonial Church. Prior to the service, we will gather at 9:45am, inside the main cemetery entrance, located at 3600 Hennepin Ave Minneapolis, MN. We ask everyone to practice social distancing (masks are required and will be furnished upon request). All are welcome.
