Mary Parsons

Parsons, Mary Angels descended on August 18, 2006, to guide Mary Elizabeth Greeley Parsons safely to her friend and Savior's home, God's kingdom. She was preceded in death by her brother Tommy and beloved son Chip who took her hands at the gates and enveloped her in the warmth of their embrace. The stubborn Irish lass, child of immigrants, bravely fought the complications of pulmonary fibrosis. She faced her four month hospital stay with the same pluck and determination she displayed all her life. Mary's feisty spirit was matched by a deep faith that shaped her entire life. She lived in accordance with the Christian tenets and values she held dear, daily demonstrating her care and concern for others. Her volunteer work included over 25 years at Fairview Hospital as well as countless contributions to Sharing and Caring Hands. Born on August 26, 1924 in Cohasset, MA, Mary spent the majority of her adult life in the Midwest never forgetting her East coast roots. The greatest testimony of her faith and character is her survivors: five adoring daughters, Carol, Lee, Gail, Jan, and Faith; son-in-laws, Bob, Don, and Greg; and her precious daughter-in-law, Patti. She was a cherished grandmother Gigi to Terri, Shannon, Kyle, Jasmine, and Paige. Her sister Marge and her extended family of uncles, aunts, and cousins will never forget this unique beautiful soul. Mary found interest in everyone she met; her curiosity and inquisitive nature will serve her well as she explores her dwellings in God's eternal place of rest. Her kindness, compassionate spirit, quick wit, and vivacious smile will be sorely missed. Those of us who follow, hope to reach as far. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, August 22, at 12PM with visitation one hour prior at The Church of St. Richard, 7540 Penn Avenue South, Richfield.
