Mary Frances Johnson

Our beloved, Mary Frances Johnson, went to be with God on September 30th, 2025 at 12:55pm peacefully resting after a courageous and faith-filled battle with terminal illness. Even in her last days, she showed us the power of a will to live and a will to love. She was born in the south, in Texarkana, Arkansas on October 16th 1955 and grew up with her mother and siblings in a well known neighborhood at the time, called High Point, in Seattle, Washington, with a large family including 10 brothers & sisters. Mary was preceded in death by her father, Velma Ramsey, her mother, Charlene Ware, her brothers: Eugene Ramsey, Riley Ramsey and Jimmy Ramsey, and her sisters: Joanne Ramsey, Velma Ramsey and Betty Hutson. She is survived by her dear husband of 21 years, Richard Johnson (who was with her in her last breath), her daughter, Sarah Maricha White, her son, Richard Allen White Jr, her brother, Robert Ramsey, her sisters, Lois Dixon, Dorothy Ramsey and Charlotte Ramsey, her granddaughters, Izabella Simone White-Mendez and Micaela Sol White-Mendez, and her grandson Judah White and many other relatives and friends including Richard Allen White, her first husband and children's father and Dana Nguyen, Judah's mother... and many more who loved her dearly. She loved and cared for so many of us. Mary was a powerful force when it came to loving life and loving Jesus. With God at the center of her faith, she pulled strength from him in her battle with illness. It was powerful to witness and the impact will leave ripples in our lives and all the lives we touch. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, having deep bible studies, biking, basketball, learning, good food, natural remedies and long walks. In her last weeks, she shared with her daughter that walking was what got her through hard times and it gave her peace. She would get up early at certain parts of her life and walk the lakes for clarity and mental health. A lesson for all of us, to be in nature and move our bodies during times to come. She devoted many hours at church as a Sunday school teacher and usher, daycare provider, and general caretaker for anyone in her life. Her greatest delight was her family. We all grew and benefited from the tender and fierce love and care she loved us with. She was an extraordinary, proud and SACRED mother and grandmother. She was our rock. Our salve. Our reminder to lean on God as our firm foundation. Our prayer warrior. She loved to pray and had a beautiful singing voice and her whistle was like an angel. Even in her fight with terminal illness, she reminded us to trust God's will and said "Daddy, Abba, would pay her back for all the hard times she had to endure". Her long time friend from the past shared a memory, that she had such a close relationship with God, that she would leave when she had guests over to be alone with God upstairs. We are grateful to know, now, she is even closer to his embrace. This is what comforts us who love her and miss her so much. Psalm: 23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever. What an honor to love and be loved by her! Her celebration of a beautiful life will be OCTOBER 26th, 2025 at The Arthouse from 3-6pm! Come in your "Sundays Best" or something that makes you feel alive. We will have some food, music and time together and a potluck table for anyone that wants to bring a dish to share (not required).
