Mary Jo Frasher July 22, 1934 - September 27, 2025 Fort Myers, Florida Mary Jo Frasher, born on July 22, 1934, in Hennepin County, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2025, in Fort Myers, Florida, at the age of 91. Her life was marked by compassion, quiet strength, and a deep commitment to others. Mary Jo grew up in Minneapolis and graduated from Roosevelt High School. She went on to earn her nursing degree from the Bethesda Hospital School of Nursing in St. Paul, Minnesota, answering a lifelong calling to care for others. Her empathy and steady hands served both patients and loved ones through every stage of life. In 1955, she married her first husband, John Marshall Ducart. Together they welcomed four sons - Charles Dean, Michael John, and Douglas Anton Ducart - and endured the heartbreaking loss of their infant son, Baby Boy Ducart. Mary Jo later found enduring companionship in marriage with Joe Payne, then Don Dietz, and finally William "Bill" Russell Frasher, with whom she spent her later years in Fort Myers. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vern Clifford Grudem and Josephine M. Wallgren; her brother, Richard Dean Grudem; her infant son; and her four beloved husbands. She is survived by her sons: Charles (Denise) Ducart of Wisconsin, Michael (Maribel) Ducart of Florida, and Douglas Ducart of Texas; and her stepdaughter, Jorja (Jerry) Allen of Ohio. Also surviving her are her sister, Karen Louise Grudem Kalambokidis of Minnesota; numerous stepchildren and extended family; her grandchildren: Ryan (Jeni) Ducart, Melissa Herrera, Hayden Ducart, and Mikayla Ducart; and great-granddaughter, Ellison Ducart, and her step-grandchild Kelsey and her step-great-grandchild Cora. Mary Jo will be remembered for her steady presence, generous heart, and the grace with which she lived her life. A memorial service and interment of ashes will be held at The Washburn-McReavy Hillside Memorial Park and Mortuary, 2600 19th Ave NE, Minneapolis, Minnesota, on Saturday, November 8, 2025. The service will begin in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 10 a.m. followed by the burial, where she will be laid to rest beside her parents. A luncheon reception will follow in the Hillside Community Room.
