Mary T. Allendorf

Allendorf, Mary T. Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother (Nana), aunt and friend. Mary Allendorf passed away on Oct. 15, 2015 at the age of 100. Preceded in death by her brother, Edward; son, Robert and husband of 46 years, Marshall. Survived by son, Richard (Carol); grandson, Robert (fiancee Nicole); granddaughter, Kerine Tatge (Jason) and great-grand-children, Jaden, Kyra, Graziella, Dante, and many nieces & nephews. Mary, an orphan train rider at the age of 2, came to Minnesota because Louis & Bessie Bezdicek of Jackson, MN "ordered" (as from a catalog) her and a boy Edward from a New York city orphanage. She had a wonderful childhood in Jackson, full of aunts, uncles and cousins. At 13, the family moved to St. Paul and then Minneapolis. She attended South High School and was on her own after graduation. She worked for Honeywell for 18 years and then Moorlane, a novelty store, for many years. In 1975, she and Marshall moved to Arizona where they spent over 30 years. Mary was president of TTT in both Mpls and Phoenix, a den mother for her boys, an avid golfer (made a hole-in-one), volunteered at hospice where she was named "Angel of the Month" twice and was always a part of parish activities wherever she lived. She loved to play bridge and played Scrabble every Sunday with her son and daughter-in-law. Anyone who was around Mary saw her beautiful face and felt beautiful internal qualities of hospitality, kindness and FUN. She was at Jones Harrison Residence in Mpls for the last three years, where she received excellent care and love from the entire staff. She was known for her smile and wave to everyone she passed in the halls. Mary was an inspiration to all who knew her. Mary's favorite charity was St. Vincent de Paul Society, 2939 - 12th Ave S., Mpls MN 55407 (svdpmpls.org) for anyone who wishes to give in Mary's name in lieu of flowers. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2015 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 13505 Excelsior Blvd., Minnetonka 55345 with visitation one hour prior to Mass. Interment at Ft.
