Mark Anthony Collins passed away peacefully (1960-2025) Mark Anthony Collins was born on August 12, 1960, to the union of Tecola Sr. & Lucille Collins. Mark was affectionately known as Turk, pops, and Grandpa to family and friends. He was introduced to an early Baptist Faith later converting to the Islamic Faith Religion. Mark began his education at Sherwood Elementary School and attended Englewood High School. He departed from his education to pursue a career in mechanics. Mark was known for his quick wit, infectious laughter, and unwavering kindness. He was a mentor to many and a pillar of support for his community. Despite facing numerous challenges, Mark never wavered in his love for his family or his commitment to living life fully. Mark's positivity and resilience in the face of adversity were an inspiration to everyone he met. Mark was called home on May 10, 2025, at 1:30 pm at Hennepin County Hospital surrounded by loved ones. Mark was a loving father to five children that he leaves to cherish his memory, Nena Braggs, Maurice Lee, Tyreese Lee, Ericka Tyler, and Denise Martin. He was a doting grandfather to ten grandchildren Mareese Lee, Sharice Lee, Jahaad Taylor, Amani Barber, Amelah Combs, Kamairrah Lee, Devin, Ethan Martin, E'Nylah Savage, and Eli Savage. Six siblings Tecola Collins Jr., Clarence Collins, Amanda Collins, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Mark's parents, grandparents, brother, and sisters all preceded him in death; Tecola Sr. & Lucille Collins, Sherman & Lena Varner, Sherman Collins, Elizabeth Collins, and Diana Frazier. After years of fighting a good fight, of a long list of illnesses that attempted to break him, Mark still pushed forward while adding glue to his family. He continued to be the person he was naturally meant to be. Mark will forever be in our hearts, his light can never be extinguished to the people that loved him. To the many extended family members, friends, and well-wishers, the family of Mark Anthony Collins would like to extend our warmest and heartfelt thanks for all of the kind expressions of love rendered to us during this challenging time.
