Marjorie Lillian Meinert

Meinert, Margie L. Age 86, of New Hope, MN passed away peacefully on January 3, 2025 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN. Preceded in death by parents Jacob and Elizabeth, her husband, Kennth and sibling Donald. Margie is survived by her children Steve (Carla), Scott (Kathy) and Sheril (Mike) and by her grandchildren Mike, Stacy, Peter, Brent, Alexi, Halei, Haden, Brandon and great-grandchildren John, Daria, Raini, Dawson, Ian, Ace and Ash. Mom devoted her life to nurturing others - both in her own family and in the many lives she touched through her in-home daycare. For years, her home was filled with laughter, learning, and love as she cared for countless children with patience, kindness, and a warm heart. She had a gift for making every child feel special and safe, and her legacy lives on in the many little lives she helped shape. When she wasn't caring for children, Mom found joy in simple pleasures - most especially a game of bingo. Whether it was playing bingo at the local hall with friends in the early years or playing with her friends at Encore Senior Living, she played with a lighthearted spirit and a competitive spark. She also loved playing 500 and other cards games, often with family around the table for evenings full of laughter, teasing, and just the right amount of friendly rivalry. But perhaps her greatest love was cooking. Mom had a true talent in the kitchen, and she especially loved making desserts that brought smiles to everyone's faces. From pies and cakes to cookies and bars, her treats were made with love - and usually devoured in minutes. She was the heart of our family - steady, loving and strong. Her legacy of kindness, generosity, and joy will live on in all of us who were lucky enough to know her. The family will be hosting a "Celebration of Life" Service on Friday August 1, 2025 at Washburn-McReavy Glen Haven Chapel, 5125 West Broadway, Crystal, MN 55429, #763-533-8643. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. with a short prayer service from 5:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. with dinner and a few games of bingo in her honor to follow the service. Mom, your table may be empty now, but your spirit will forever fill our hearts. Now it's time to join Dad at the table in heaven for a new game of cards
