Marjean Ann (McShane) DeCesare

DeCesare, Marjean Ann (McShane) DeCesare passed away peacefully on the morning of Friday, November 3rd surrounded by her loving, dedicated, and adoring family. She succumbed to a brief and courageous battle with Cancer. She was born in Fargo, North Dakota, and was the oldest of 11 children. She excelled in school, attending Shanley High School, and was Homecoming Queen. She earned an academic scholarship to College of St. Teresa in Winona, MN where she graduated with a nursing degree. She met her suitor and "love of her life," Ron DeCesare in 3rd grade. He would walk her to school, eventually began dating, and have remained together since that time. They had a glorious 50th Wedding Anniversary Celebration September of 2016, attended by 100+ family members. "M" and Ron set the highest standard possible for husband and wife; mother and father. She was a maternal figure for her siblings (and everyone), creating a strong bond across a large extended family, clearly demonstrated throughout her final moments. This bond, and her family, she cherished always and forever. Marjean is a wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, and aunt for all to emulate. She had a special and unique gift to make everyone feel like they were her best friend, favorite grandchild, or favorite niece/nephew. Mom had profound pride in her children, especially 11 grandchildren. She was a constant presence at their activities and athletic eventstheir #1 fan. Her influence, love, and impact are etched forever in thousands of photos and countless memories. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Margie McShane, and her brothers Thomas and Patrick. Marjean is survived by her loving (and much loved), devoted husband of 51 years, Ronald DeCesare; her 3 children: Jeffrey (Ruby) DeCesare, Eden Prairie, MN; Karen (Bill) Doll, Edina, MN; Brian (Cosette) DeCesare, Edina, MN; and her pride and joy--11 Grandchildren: Michael, Thomas, Rachel, Maria, Theresa, and Genevieve DeCesare; Stephen, Sophia, AJ, Josie, and Lisa Doll. We thank all of Mom's caregiversand many family members and friends providing a constant stream of thoughts, prayers, and love. Marjean, Grandma, Mom, "M," made this world a brighter place for 73 years, and forever after. We thank God for the gift of Marjeanmay she rest in peace. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM on Sunday, November 5th at Washburn McReavy, 7625 Mitchell Road, Eden Prairie. The Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 6th at Our Lady of Grace, 5071 Eden Avenue, Edina, MN. In lieu of flowers, the family invites memorials to NC Little Hospice, 7019 Lynmar Lane, Edina, MN 55435.
