Margaret Ellen Overturf

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden loss of Margaret "Peg" Overturf--a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. Peg, age 82, of Victoria, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2026 at Ridgeview Hospital in Waconia, Minnesota. Peg was born on January 15, 1944 in St. Paul, Minnesota. She attended St. Paul Central High School and later earned her bachelor's degree at Mankato State University. Peg shared 59 wonderful years of marriage with her husband, Glenn. Together, they created countless memories at their cabin, on vacations, and welcoming others into their home. She was a gifted cook and a gracious hostess, always eager to gather family and friends around her table. She devoted her life to caring for others - first as a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother and second as a passionate educator. Peg taught Family and Consumer Science for 36 years and took great pride in her work, including recognition as Minnesota's Teacher of the Year in 2002. Peg was known for her unwavering positivity. She had a rare gift for making everyone she met feel truly special, seen, and warmly welcomed. She will be remembered as someone who was full of life and who found great joy and wonder in life's simple pleasures. Her favorite pastimes included spending time outdoors with activities such as cross-country skiing, gardening, visiting the local arboretum, and taking walks with family and friends. Peg is survived by her loving husband, Glenn; her children, Allen (Diane) Overturf and Lisa Overturf; her grandchildren, Alyssa (Jay), Joshua, Spencer, and Nicholas; and one great-grandson expected in May. She is also survived by her siblings, Nancy (Cliff) Best, Patty (Jerry) Wetterling, and Russ (Linda) King, along with many cherished nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert (Bob) Earley, Russell (Bud) and Eunice King, and her sister, Barbara Zanussi. A visitation will be held on March 7, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with lunch to follow at Washburn-McReavy Funeral Home in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Jacob Wetterling Resource Center (JWRC), 366 Jackson St, Suite 300, St. Paul, MN 55101 in honor of the hope that Peg carried to find her nephew Jacob. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
