Margaret A. (Poorman) Luse

Luse, Margaret A. (Poorman) Age 92, Bloomington, passed away December 28, 2017. Preceded in death by husband of 53 years John, mother Anna (Kampmeier), sisters Lois Akers, Jean Burman and brother John Poorman. Born July 30, 1925 in Waverly, Iowa to Anna (Kampmeier) Poorman and Frank H. Poorman. Married John Willis Luse, May 13, 1948. Resided in DeWitt, IA 1968-86; Bella Vista, AR 1986-2000, moved to MN in 2000 and resided at Presbyterian Homes of Bloomington since 2002. Margaret graduated from Waverly High School in 1943. Became Registered Nurse at Iowa Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing, Des Moines, IA in 1946 as part of the WWII U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps. Worked at numerous hospitals from 1946 until 1993 including St Luke’s Cedar Rapids, Palo Alto Countyy, DeWitt Community and NW Arkansas Regional Medical Center. Throughout the years she was an active member of United Methodist Church, Lioness Club, Habitat for Humanity, Benton County Women’s Shelter, NW Arkansas Retired Nurses Association and various volunteer roles at Presbyterian Homes including chapel committee and resident council . She enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading, genealogy and camping. Margaret loved the pool and was devoted to water exercise for much of the last 30 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother that cherished time with family and friends. She was driven to be active, read, learn and try new things and passed this curiosity and work ethic along to her family by her passion and example; a priceless gift and legacy. Survived by children Dean(LaRue Green), Boise, ID; Alan (Donna), Gilbert,AZ; Bill (Cari),DeWitt, IA; Julie (Dan) Brooks and Jane (Paul) Brazel, Bloomington, MN; grandchildren: Zach, Otis (Bonnie Grigor), Andrea (Josh) James, Kathryn and Brian (Lauren) Brooks; Amanda (Tim) Lamanna, Eric; Dave, Nick & Joe Brazel, Step-granddaughter Stephanie (Brian) Monroney; great- grandchildren: Trevor, Ian, Finn, Natalie, Juliana, Sullivan, Kaitlyn, Taylor, Aidan and Alema and many dear extended family members and friends. Memorial Service Friday January 26, 3:00 PM, with visitation one hour prior. Presbyterian Homes of Bloomington, Chapel, 9889 Penn Avenue S, Bloomington, MN.
