Marcy Layne McLeod

Marcy Layne (Bergman) McLeod, age 68 was called home to the Lord on April 3, 2026. Marcy Layne McLeod was born to parents Warren and Dolores Bergman on August 16, 1957 in Minneapolis, MN. She was the youngest of three siblings. Her addition was pure joy to the family. She was fun, energetic, and loved tagging along with her siblings or neighborhood friends. She blossomed into her own while spending many summers at her favorite place in the world, Camp Shamineau. She learned how to wrangle horses, built many lifelong friendships and even took her hand at bull riding. It was a one time endeavor. Her marriage in November, 1983 brought about two of her greatest life blessings and she entered into her greatest role, mom. Molly (McLeod) Strom was born on October 13, 1986 and Samuel McLeod on May 14, 1991. She was the most selfless, loving, and patient mom anyone could ask for. When she became a single mother, she stayed strong and resilient. Raising her children and giving them the best life. Her kind and patient nature were put to good use when she became a grandma to her two grandsons, Jamison and Connor Strom. Distance didn't stop her from being intentional with them and she made a point to attend the biggest and smallest of life events for those two. She was talented in the arts with her cross stitching and sewing. She loved to read and only read books she would own. Her home library is a sight to see. She learned her hard work ethic from her parents and gave 20 years to Valley Buick Gmc in Apple Valley. She loved her time there and the relationships with her coworkers she made over the years. She attended Oxboro Evangelical Free Church for over 60 years and would often be found serving in a variety of roles. Never one for center stage, however Marcy enjoyed working in the Children's Ministry, serving as the church wedding coordinator for many years, and being Deacon of Fellowship. In recent years, her health brought many up and down struggles that she handled without grumbling or complaint, only so much grace. Her health decline eventually led to home hospice care. The Lord graciously called Marcy home on April 3, 2026, Good Friday. A beautiful reminder that none of this life on Earth is wasted, it all comes back to the Cross where sin and death were conquered once and for all. Please join us in honoring Marcy's life at Oxboro Evangelical Free church on Monday, April 13, 2026. Visitation at 10AM. Service at 11AM with a luncheon to follow.
