Marcia Peterson Soules

Marcia Peterson Soules, Age 79, of Minnetonka, MN passed away on May 5, 2025. Marcia was born October 11, 1945 in Willmar, MN. Marcia was preceded in death by her parents Rodney and Adele Peterson, brothers Wayne, Willard and Keith. Survived by husband William (Bill) Soules, Bill's children Ruth, David (Lisa), Ann (John Rader), Bob (Lori), Stephen, sister Maxine (Roger) Wiley, brother Tom (Pamela) Peterson, and sister-in-law Ele Peterson. She will also be greatly missed by them and by her 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. After graduating from high school in Belgrade, MN, Marcia received her RN diploma from Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in 1966. She worked at Methodist Hospital for a short period before moving to Denver, CO where she lived for seven years. She then returned to Minnesota and worked at Methodist Hospital while she was obtaining her BS from St. Francis College,and her Nurse Practitioner certification in 1980 from the University of Minnesota. Marcia continued her career as a Nurse Practitioner at Park Nicollet Clinic's Oncology department until her retirement in 2010. Marcia loved to travel. She backpacked through Europe for three months in the 70's. She and Bill made several trips including annual winter trips to Hawaii, trips to Europe, a rail trip across Canada and annual resort stays on Gull Lake and Lutsen Resort in northern Minnesota lake country as well as visiting friends and relatives across the country. Marcia was the consummate hostess, she and Bill enjoyed entertaining friends and family. She was known for her wonderful baking skills, her creations were enjoyed by many. She loved nature, tending her flower gardens and enjoying their beautiful home and a variety of wildlife in their backyard. Marcia was a member of P.E.O., the Oncology Nursing Society, and Aldersgate United Methodist Church which she joined in 1973. She was very active in her church, serving on many committees, as a lay leader and participated in the bell choir for many years. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 16, 1:30 PM at: Aldersgate United Methodist Church located at the Spirit of Christ Community Lutheran Church 5801 Minnetonka Blvd. St. Louis Park, MN. Private inurnment at Lakewood Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be directed to Union Gospel Mission in Minneapolis or the Park Nicollet Foundation.
