Marcella Pecchia

Pecchia, Marcella, Age 91, of Minneapolis, MN went peacefully to Heaven with family at her side May 12, 2020. Marcella was born on August 2, 1928 to John & Mary Morris in Minneapolis, MN. Childhood years were spent attending Holy Cross elementary school and graduation from St Anthony of Padua High School in Minneapolis. She loved music and was blessed with the voice of an angel. High School Drama Club was another interest that she participated in and often shared her memories. After HS she held various office positions and spent time visiting relatives on the Iron Range in northern MN. During her many visits to Keewatin, MN she met the love of her life, Frank Pecchia and they were married May 24, 1952. The first few years of married life were spent in Nashwauk, MN before moving to Minneapolis. They had 3 children: Anne, Michael & Lawrence. Marcella was the ultimate caretaker and volunteer. She was also a fantastic cook and baker. If anything needed to be done or if anyone needed help she was there. She spent hours at church, belonged to the choir & helped at the schools her children attended throughout the years. She was a fundraiser and devoted many hours to the DeLaSalle Patroness Society. She also held fond memories of the years she spent teaching kindergarten at Holy Cross grade school. Marcella is survived by her 3 children and their families. Son, Lawrence, Anne Serakos (Bill) their children; son Jerry, step sons; Tony (Bre) their children Jack, Tommy and Will; Nick (Marie) their children Theo & Hank. Michael(Marilyn, deceased) & his daughter; Micky her son Oliver, stepdaughters Jennifer(Todd) their children Elena & Zoe; Jill; Jaimee(Bob) their children Audrey, Lucy, Annie, & Leo. Marcella was preceded in death by her husband Frank, daughter-in-law Marilyn, parents Mary & John, brother Raymond and sister-in-law Myrna. Mom was our hero. She loved each of us fiercely and there are no words to describe how much we will miss her. Heaven has gained a new voice and beautiful soul.
