Marc George Thibodeaux

Thibodeaux, Marc George, age 67 of N.E. Minneapolis passed away peacefully with family by his side on May 5th, 2021. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years - Linda Lee Thibodeaux, and by his daughter Kelly Lee Thibodeaux-Dehnel (Brian), son Lyle Thibodeaux, grandchildren Haley & Tyler Dehnel, brother Jean Thibodeaux , Sisters Corry Tarbox , Nanette Griffith, Gabrielle Tetreault, and many nieces and nephews. Marc is proceeded in death by Parents Jean Thibodeaux & Clarice Thibodeaux, Sister Rachelle Thibodeaux & Brother Rene Thibodeaux. Marc was Born on August 12th, 1953. He graduated in 1971 from Columbia Heights High School and then enlisted in the Army. Marc fought in Vietnam where he was part of Custer's old unit - the 7th Calvary. He was one of many brave fighting solders who dangled their feet off the side of a flying helicopter, leaning back on their rut sacks. After his tour of duty, Marc worked as a unionized welder for Barry Blower & Life Fitness. He always gave 100% effort and took great pride in his work. He was a dedicated and active member of the VFW-230 in Columbia Heights where he served as Commander & President with the love of his life - his wife Linda. He took great pride in his participation with the Honor Guard and Posted Colors which honored other veterans at various events and funerals. Now these same friends and colleagues will do the same for him when he is interned at Fort Snelling Memorial National Cemetery Marc was a loving and devoted husband to Linda and a great father to his children Kelly and Lyle. He had a crazy Love for his grandkids Haley & Tyler. He loved them all with his big and generous heart. His other great love was spending time with his family at the cabin up north sitting by the fire. He loved bowling, golfing and all his Minnesota sporting teams (except possibly not the Timberpuppies) He was taken away much too early in life, at the young age of 67, by a glioblastoma brain tumor but his Spirit will live on in each of us forever! He was truly "one of a kind" and will be sorely missed but never forgotten! Visitation will be on May 26, 2021 from 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM at Hillside Cemetery Chapel, 2610 - 19th Ave NE, Minneapolis, Minnesota. There will be a family only grave side service at Fort Snelling Memorial National Cemetery after visitation.
