M.A. "Bo" Warner Jr.

Warner, M.A., Jr. "Bo" of Bloomington, MN, passed away peacefully at age 93, on March 8, 2013. Preceded in death by his parents, Maurice and Mary; brother, Ellsworth; sister, Pam; niece, Pam Rogers; and first wife, Marjorie. Bo was born in Minneapolis on Dec. 24, 1919. He attended Blake, Washburn HS, Dartmouth College and the U of M. He served 4 years in the army in WWII, 2 as an officer in New Guinea and the Philippines. He married Marjorie Farnquist in 1946 and they had 4 children. Bo worked in the insurance business for 38 years, 23 with his own agency. He had been a member of the Suburban Gyros, the Mpls. Athletic Club, and the MN Pond of the Blue Goose. He was a Shriner, active in the Al Bedoo Temple in Montana and Commodore of Lake Harriet Yacht Club in 1965. In 1970, he met Marlene and her daughter, Pam. They married in 1971 and shared 42 years together. Bo was an avid sportsman, accomplished athlete and a dedicated MN Twins fan. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golf, tennis, sailing, handball, bowling and a competitive game of dominoes! He retired in 1978 and moved to Bozeman, MT for 10 years where he continued his love for hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed driving his little 8-N Ford tractor "farming his back-forty." He was involved in the church: as a Deacon, in the Men's Club, and teaching Sunday school. Bo and Marlene took many wonderful trips all over the world and loved spending winters at their home on Anna Maria Island, FL. He always took pride in his family, and greatly enjoyed the arrival of each new grandchild. Survived by brother, Henry "Tuck" (Sally); his wife, Marlene; sons, Greg and Mark; daughters, Mary Withers (Randy), Nancy Myers (Michael), Pam Hamel (Dave). Also survived by grandchildren, Anne Nastor (Renn), Scott and Jack Warner, Ben Stout (Angela), Aaron and Laura Myers, Katie and Andy Hamel; great-granddaughter, Brenna Nastor; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Funeral service Friday, March 15 at 11AM, with visitation 1 hour prior to the service at St. Michael's Lutheran Church, 9201 Normandale Blvd, Bloomington, MN.
