Bell, Cindy (Messing) Our dearly loved Cindy, age 83, of Minneapolis, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Cindy lived a life of quiet intention. She believed the little things mattered because they made people feel loved. Whether it was carefully arranging the colors of the M&M's she kept out for visitors, finding just the right pair of pajamas for each special child at Christmas, or tending the beautiful flowers that filled her gardens, every detail reflected the thought and care she put into the people around her. She had a remarkable gift for making others feel special. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Miriam Messing, and her beloved sister, Ginger Frandsen. She is survived by her devoted husband of 41 years, Herbert "Bud" Bell; her sons, Mark (Kimberly) Olson and Jeff (Carol) Olson; her cherished grandchildren, Madeleine, Ben, Will, and Ryan; and her beloved niece and nephew, Dana and Darryl, all of whom brought her tremendous joy. Cindy spent more than thirty years at 3M, beginning as an Executive Assistant before advancing to Office Manager, where she led the Executive Assistant organization supporting Corporate Marketing, Community Affairs, the Audio Visual Group, and Local Public Relations. She was admired for her organization, dependability, and ability to bring order to even the busiest days. She loved planning, structure, and predictability, qualities that somehow coexisted with her unwavering loyalty to the ever-unpredictable Twins and Vikings. The greatest adventure of Cindy's life was the one she shared with Bud. Together they explored all fifty states, traveled throughout Canada, and visited destinations around the world. Yet no place brought them greater happiness than their cabin on Round Lake. It was there that Cindy found peace reading a good book, tending her flowers, mowing the lawn she loved so much, and simply enjoying life's quieter moments. While she was a devoted wife and proud mother, nothing compared to the joy she found in being "Grandmom" to Madeleine, Ben, Will, and Ryan. She celebrated every milestone, remembered every birthday, and found countless thoughtful ways to let each of them know just how deeply they were loved. Being their grandmother was her greatest joy and proudest role. Cindy also treasured the relationships she shared with her beloved brother-in-law, John and sisters-in-law, Kathryn and Susan and all her nieces and nephews. Beyond her immediate family, Cindy built an "adopted family" of dear neighbors and lifelong friends, especially those from her many years at 3M. Her friendships endured for decades because she invested in people with the same care and intention that defined every other part of her life. Cindy will be remembered not only for what she accomplished, but for how she made people feel. Her kindness was steady, her generosity quiet, and her love unwavering. She leaves behind a legacy of thoughtfulness, grace, and deep devotion to the people she loved. She will be profoundly missed and forever remembered. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 29, at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Olivet Lutheran Church, 5025 Knox Ave. S., Minneapolis. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, followed by a luncheon.
