Luana Lou Webster

Luana Lou (Halverson) Webster, age 91, formerly of Chaska, Mound, and Bloomington, Minnesota passed away March 21, 2020. Luana was born in Breckenridge, Minnesota to Ethel and Ollie Halverson. She graduated from Marshall High School in south Minneapolis. She was married to Julius E. Webster, Jr. in September 1951 at Grace Lutheran Church. They were married for 60 years when he passed away in 2011. Luana was a Stay-At-Home Mom and according to her, her greatest accomplishment in life were their four children, “Who all turned out perfect!” Luana and Julius were active in the Zuhrah Shrine Temple and enjoyed years of events and adventures with many friends made through this organization. Luana was also proud to have been chosen to be the Zuhrah Ladies Society President in 1987, where she met many wonderful ladies. She created the “Zuhrah Ladies Singing Group” that performed for seniors and generated donations for the Minneapolis Shriners Hospital for Children. A particular inspiration to her was a Zuhrah Ladies friend and piano player for the singing group, Evelyn Siegel, who lived to be 108 years young! When Julius retired, they enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and in later years became “snowbirds”, spending winters at their cottage in Sun City, Arizona. Luana picked up a hobby of collecting used and abused dolls and restored them to like new. She then gave them to various charities and laughed when people would call her, “The Doll Lady”. Luana was preceded in death by husband Julius, Jr. and sister, Olive Mae Otterstad. She is survived by children Judith Ann Streefland, Julius, III (Peggy), Jan Marie Webster (Mark) and Sherilou Tokvam (Dale), grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sister Sally Fields (Bill), and nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff of The Wealshire of Bloomington for the wonderful care she received there. Memorials preferred to Shriners Hospitals for Children or Mount Olivet Lutheran Church. A private interment service was held at Hillside Cemetery in March.
