Lowell Oberg

Oberg, Lowell ?Lugs' Milton age 92, of Mtka, passed away peacefully Jan 4, 2009. Born June 7, 1916, at home in Mpls., he graduated from Washburn HS and attended the University of MN. He was in the Army Air Corps for 3 1/2 years. He followed his father into the field of graphic arts and eventually in sales in the printing and publishing industries. In 1947 he married Prudence Graves, and they raised 4 children. They were active in the ministries of Minnetonka Community Church where he sang in the choir and attended the Men's Prayer Breakfast for decades. He reluctantly retired at the age of 77, but enjoyed traveling with Prudence. He cared for Prudence as her health declined until her death in 2006. He suffered a stroke in Dec. 2007 and spent his last year enjoying life at Sunrise Assisted Living, Mtka. tended by caring staff and family. He went peacefully into the presence of his Lord Jesus Christ on Jan 4, 2009. He is well remembered for his friendly smile, firm handshake, infectious laugh, and ever-present camera. Preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Dora Oberg, his wife of 58 years, Prudence; two sisters-in-law, Helen Clymer and Eloyce Graves, and brother-in-law, Dick Coffin. Survived by his children, Terry (Cathy), Dinuba, CA; Tally (Elmer) Case, Max, NE; Tammy (Don) Schroden, Minnetrista; and Tim (Vivi), Mtka; grandchildren Travis and Timothy (Rachel) Oberg, Heather (Billy) Walker, Christina Case, Annette (Wooddy) Miller, Jasmine (James) Loveland, Jacob and Justin Schroden, Nelina (Eric) England, Kristy (Christopher) Wendover, Caleb Oberg, and Emily (David) Eggerth; great-grandchildren, Jade and Andrew Loveland, and Taylor, Kate, and Lily England; sister Patty Coffin, CA, brothers- in-law Wayne (Virginia) Clymer, MN, Don (Bonnie) Graves, OK, and Merrill (Patty) Graves, SC; and many other relatives and friends. Memorial celebration, Saturday, February 14, 11:00 am, Minnetonka Community Church, 13215 Minnetonka Drive, Mtka.
