Lorraine Beryl Forslin: A Life Celebrated Lorraine Beryl (Fremming) Forslin, daughter of Earl Oliver Fremming and Beryl May (McNeill) Fremming celebrated her 88th birthday this year, a woman whose vibrant spirit touched countless lives, embarked on her final journey to eternal peace on July 5th. Her legacy is one of joy, love, and unwavering faith. From her earliest days, Lorraine believed that life should be filled with laughter and adventure. She reveled in exploring the world, creating beautiful ceramics, and sharing Manhattan Mondays with dear friends. Her piano melodies and soulful singing resonated with all who knew her. Lorraine's love for shopping was legendary-her favorite stores may now mourn her absence! A Chico's coupon tucked into her Bible revealed her playful spirit and practicality. Her partner, Bill Thomford, shared in her zest for life. Together, they split their time between homes in Florida and Minneapolis, savoring winery tours with son Kevin Diepholz and his wife, Deb. BBQs with son Mike Diepholz and his wife, Sue, were true delights-Mike's beef tenderloin and kabobs were unmatched. (plus- - his seafood omelets are second to none). Before Florida, Lorraine and Bill lived in Arizona, where they cherished friendships with neighbors and spent time with stepson Chris Johnson and his wife, Amy. When in Minneapolis, Lorraine also enjoyed lunch and visits with stepdaughter Rondi Johnston-Willis, reminiscing in childhood memories. While in Florida, Florida's ocean breezes and new friendships enriched Lorraine's days. Daughter Kim Newhouse and her husband, Steve, introduced her to delightful restaurants and drives down the legendary A1A. In Florida and throughout the United States, Lorraine's vast circle of friends spanned her lifetime-from grade school to Washington High School in Sioux Falls, SD and University of South Dakota Vermillion.... With stories of friends tossing rocks at her window calling her downstairs to go out! Family held a special place in Lorraine's heart. She delighted in visits from her seven grandchildren, who helped with yard work, sent texts, pictures, and called often. Watching them grow into adults brought her immense joy. And she eagerly awaited the arrival of her sixth great-grandchild in October. Music and faith intertwined in Lorraine's soul. Her brother Jim's singing resonated deeply, and she anticipated reuniting with her sister, Barb, in eternal harmony. A bucket-list dream came true when Kevin and Deb arranged for Lorraine to attend a David Phelps concert in Pella, IA. The journey was meticulously planned to ensure her comfort, and meeting David Phelps was a highlight. As she listened to his music on her last day, she whispered to her nurse, "This is the song for my funeral." To all her friends, Lorraine considered you family. Farewell for now, dear Lorraine. We'll meet again, and eternity awaits your joyful spirit. ----------------------------------------------------------------- A memorial service to celebrate Lorraine's life will be held on Friday, July 12th at Mt.
