Lois Lenox

Lois E. Dean Lenox Was a precious gift that was given to us for 67 years and was nowhere near long enough. Her kindness, generosity, and sense of fun will be missed by all who knew her. Lois was born August 27, 1956, to Harvey E. Dean II and Saimie I. (Kiiliala) Dean in Cloquet, Minnesota, the fourth of six children. She lived in Cloquet until her parents purchased a small business in Edinburg, North Dakota. As a child Lois was a bit of a mischief-maker and sometimes led her younger siblings into minor escapades. She had a marvelous sense of humor. After the family business and home were destroyed by a fire, the family returned to Cloquet. Lois graduated from Cloquet High School and continued her education at the University of Minnesota in Duluth. Her brother, Rodney, introduced her to his coworker, Tim Lenox. A whirlwind courtship ensued, and Lois and Tim were married within three weeks. They settled in the Hopkins area. Once their daughter, Kelley Clarissa, was born and growing up, Lois resumed her career. Initially, she worked in investment banking executing multimillion-dollar trades. Later she worked as a Project Manager, an Editor in Graphic Design, a Program Manager, and a Market Research Coordinator. Working in the financial, engineering, and IT industry sectors, she used her talents, knowledge, skills, and expertise to enhance any organization with which she was involved. Lois had many talents. She was a gifted clothing designer. She sewed draperies, upholstery, doll clothes, current trends, classic designs, and designs with a twist. We know she could have won Project Runway if she would have had time to apply. She was a talented photographer and photo editor, taking breathtaking photographs and enhancing portraits with her excellent skills in photoshop. If there was ever a green thumb gardener, it was Lois - she could coax anything out of God's green earth. Lois was an exceptional cook and baker, creating delectable meals and extraordinarily beautiful cakes and desserts for family and friends. She did landscaping, creating pathways with found materials that were artfully designed. She did carpentry and masonry. She could even handle a jack hammer while in her 60s. She was truly a remarkable jack of all trades. She was also an avid sports fan, especially baseball and football. But most of all she loved her daughter, Kelley, and her cat, Shadow. Lois passed away August 31, 2023. She is joining her parents, two brothers, Harvey E. Dean III and Rodney A. Dean, grandparents, Anna Liisa Luukkonen Kiiliala and Jere Kiiliala, and Ethel Creech Dean and Harvey E. Dean I, and brother-in-law, Dean E. Longsyo, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins in heaven. She is survived by her daughter, Kelley (Sophia) Lenox-Burton, and Kelley's father, Timothy Lenox. Also surviving is her sister, Susan Dean, and her daughters, Tammy Brevik, and Sheree (Chad) Lindemann and their children, Abigail (Eric) Larson and their children, Emmett, Amina and Alivia, and Sheree's second child, James, and third child, Natalie (Drew) Wittich. Lois is also survived by sister, Marcella Dean, and sister, Elizabeth (David) Berman and three sons, Matthew Berman (fiancé Crystal Shelton), Andrew (Whitney) Berman and children, Dax, Quill, Zeke, and Harker and third son, Jacob (Emily) Berman; sister-in-law, Mariaetta Dean and brother Rodney's daughters, Katie Dean-Cheam (Sophann Cheam) and children, Sophie, Sam, and Mia, and daughter, Jennifer Brown, and her daughter, Vanessa. Those of us left behind will miss her beyond measure. Visitation is Saturday, October 14 at 9:30am with a Celebration of Life to follow at 11:00 am at Washburn-Mcreavy Eden Prairie Chapel, 7625 Mitchell Road.
