Lois Mae Franck

Lois Mae Franck, age 86, passed away peacefully, surrounded by love, on Monday, March 30, 2026 at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, MN. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at 11:00am at Washburn-McReavy Glen Haven Chapel 5125 West Broadway Crystal, MN with visitation beginning at 10:00AM. Interment will be at later date at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN. Lois was born on July 4, 1939 in rural Glencoe, Minnesota to Erich and Anna (Witte) Koester. She was baptized on July 23, 1939 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Helen Township and confirmed at First Ev. Lutheran Church in Glencoe in 1953. In 1957, she graduated from Glencoe High School. On October 3, 1959 Lois was united in marriage to Roger Franck at First Ev. Lutheran Church. They were married for 61 years and raised five children together. As a caring mom, grandma and great-grandma she kept busy raising her family. In addition, she worked at Glencoe High School, ran a home day care business, then worked at Gustafson-Fuxa Electric, Berndt Electric and Cobra Microsystems until she retired in 2000. She was strong in her faith in God, a winning card player and loved 500 and cribbage. She was a music lover and other favorite activities included playing marbles, camping, fishing and all family gatherings where she could visit with family or friends. She also enjoyed crocheting and counted cross-stitch. Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Roger; parents, Erich and Anna Koester; brother, Harvey Koester; sister Arlene (Donald) Mueller; parents-in-law, William and Freida Franck; brothers-in-law Wilmer, Elroy (Eleanor), Lloyd, Stanley (Glenda), Donald (Marilyn), and William (Lois); sisters-in-law, Florence (Donald) Roufs, Esther Schrupp, Ruth (Lenny) Zumberge, Pearl (Gordon) Kloempken, Shirley (Ray) Graupmann, and Betty (Merlin) Debner. Survivors include her children, Loren (Collette), Charlotte, Bruce, Wendy (Dale) Borchardt and Sara; grandchildren, Anthony, Reid (LeeAnna) Borchardt, Mitchell (Faith) Borchardt, Lia Borchardt (Tanor Quam), and Madison (Nate Miller); great-grandchildren, Kinley, Lyla and RJ; sisters-in-law, Margaret Koester and Donna Franck; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Per her wishes, in lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Walk Right In Ministries, Minneapolis, MN.
