Linda Ann Wolkerstorfer

Linda Ann Wolkerstorfer, 76, Shoreview, died peacefully at home on June 1, 2024, surrounded by family after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Saint Paul on May 30, 1948, to the late Thomas and Audrey (Langlois) Connolly. She graduated from St. Joseph's Academy and married the love of her life, Ken Wolkerstorfer, on September 13, 1969. Linda was known for her meticulous and fashionable appearance, strong opinions, generosity, and most importantly her unwavering dedication to family. Linda met her husband, Ken, 56 years ago. They have been inseparable ever since. In earlier years Linda enjoyed spending time with her family on their boat in Bayport, both going for boat rides on the St. Croix and Mississippi Rivers and relaxing on the back deck with friends from the marina. Linda had a competitive nature and especially enjoyed playing cards, Boggle, and board games with her sisters. She also loved talking with each of them about the daily newspaper crossword puzzle. Linda was an avid sports fan. She loved watching football, golf, tennis, soccer and even bowling (when that was on TV!). She was a very passionate Vikings season ticket holder for years. We all knew not to call on Sundays when the Vikings weren't doing well! Linda also loved Christmas. Every year, her family enjoyed impeccably wrapped gifts, the most thoughtful cards and a wonderland of ornaments, creating beautiful memories for her family every year. We are confident she was Hallmark's best customer! Linda had a special place in her heart for her siblings, her cousins, and friends that were considered to be family over the years. Her greatest enjoyment came from time spent together including the annual week of vacation every summer at "the lake". She was extremely proud of her grandchildren and loved attending their school and sporting events, spending time with them during "grandma day" every Wednesday, and watching them grow into amazing young adults. Linda showed extreme strength, resilience and courage throughout her life, but especially the last several years. She left a lasting impression on her family on how to embrace life, enjoy the simple things, and face each challenge with hope and love. Linda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and sister who will be greatly missed by her husband of 54 years, Ken, her son Bart (Jodi) Wolkerstorfer of Shoreview, MN; her daughter, Amy Wolkerstorfer of Minneapolis, MN; her grandchildren Lauren (Jake) Van Loh of St. Paul, MN and Jake Wolkerstorfer of Charlotte, NC; sisters Carole Donaghue, Susan (Bob) Hansen, Janice Romans; lifelong friend and sister-in-law Bonnie Connolly, sisters-in-law Gail Wolkerstorfer and Joan Gorka, and numerous nieces and nephews and their families. She loved you all. She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Audrey Connolly, brother Tom Connolly, brothers-in-law Dave Donaghue, Jerry Gorka, and Bill Wolkerstofer. A Mass of Christian Burial honoring Linda's life will be held on Friday, June 21st at 11:00 AM at St. Odilia Catholic Church, 3495 Victoria St N, Shoreview, MN 55126 with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM and luncheon to follow.
