Linda Jean Blanchette July 28, 1949 - May 17, 2024 Linda Jean Blanchette, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and cherished friend, passed away on May 17, 2024 in Osseo, Minnesota at the age of 74. Linda was born on July 28, 1949 in Milbank, South Dakota to the parents of Bernard and Dorothy Van Asch. Linda was the eldest daughter of eight children, and grew up in Coon Rapids, Minnesota. She met the love of her life at an early age and was married on January 4, 1968 to Steven Blanchette. She had two amazing children and one grandson to which she devoted her entire life to. Linda was very proud of her family, and family meant everything to her. Linda was a very selfless person and loved by all of her family. She never wanted anyone to worry about her and always turned the conversation around to deflect it off of herself, as she was more concerned with the needs and wishes of others than her own. Linda enjoyed many activities, including playing M8 Pool in a league, fantasy football, camping, garage saling, gardening and all things related to family events and gatherings. You could always count on Linda to be at all the events from baseball games and hockey games, to school events for her entire family. Her other great joy was her plants and flowers. She always had plants growing in her house and her beautiful rose bushes growing around her home. Linda had a love for all flowers, especially roses, peonies, lilies and violets. Linda will also be known as the maker of the best banana bread by her family. Her banana bread was highly requested at every family function and loved by all. Over the years, many have tried but no one has been able to master her recipe and hers will always be the best. Linda was preceded in death by her husband, the love of her life of 56 years Steven, her parents Bernard and Dorothy Van Asch, her four sisters Kathy, Sandy, Debra and Karen. She is survived by her children, Donald Blanchette and Shannon Johnson, her Grandson Cody Johnson, as well as her sister Carol (David) Tews, and brothers James (Sheri) Van Asch and Richard (Karen) Van Asch, along with many nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate Linda's meaningful life will be held at Epiphany Church in Coon Rapids, Minnesota on Thursday May 23, 2024. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m with the burial immediately following at Epiphany Cemetery. A lunch will be served afterward to honor Linda's memory. Linda will always be remembered for her selflessness, her love of family and her amazing banana bread baking skills. All that knew her will forever miss her kind and caring heart. May she rest in eternal peace alongside the love of her life, her beloved husband, Steven.
