Lillian Urban

Urban, Lillian Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother and Dear Friend to so many. Age 81, of Eden Prairie passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on April 20. Lillian was born February 18, 1926 to Harry and Nora Eckstrom of Minneapolis. She graduated from Roosevelt School in 1944, where she met and soon after married Don Urban, on July 12, 1947. Lillian worked at the Midland Bank through the 40's and 50's and has been a member of the "Midland Ladies Group" meeting with former employees/friends each year for over fifty years. She was the president of American Recreation Shows for 40 years. Along with her family, she ran and produced trade/ consumer shows at the old Minneapolis auditorium, Convention Center and many cities throughout the nation. In conjunction, Lillian also produced/promoted many country music events in the midwest, She was a survivor of breast cancer since 1985 and spent countless hours at hospitals in the metro area assisting patients in fighting and dealing with the disease. She was a member of the Wooddale Lutheran Church in St. Louis Park for fifty years. Her involvement and dedication to the church was a true passion. Lil also enjoyed spending time at the cabin in Emily, Minnesota and traveling the country with her grandchildren. She had a love of family and friends that was truly unmatched. We shall all miss her kind, caring and loving spirit, a smile and glimmer in her bright blue eyes that made you feel that all in the world was going to be just fine. Survived by her devoted & caring husband, Don Urban; daughter, Holly Eisenberg; son-in-law, Jeff Eisenberg; grandchildren, J.D. Eisenberg, Michelle Eisenberg; great- grandchild, Jaya Eisenberg. Preceded in death by mother and father, Harry & Nora Eckstrom; brother, Alan Eckstrom. Funeral Service to be held Tuesday, April 24, 11 AM with visitation 1 hour before at Wooddale Lutheran Church, 4003 Wooddale Ave S, St Louis Park, MN 55416 (952- 926-7603). Interment Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to Wooddale Lutheran Church or the Amer. Cancer Society.
