Lawrence David Schram

Lawrence Schram, 84, a devoted man of God with a heart even bigger than his strong opinions went to heaven to dance with Jesus and his beloved Delpha Friday, October 24, surrounded by family and friends. Born on September 30, 1941 in Detroit Lakes, MN, Lawrence, or Larry as he was known in his earlier years, spent his life living out his faith daily, sharing God's Word with all who crossed his path. An entrepreneur and real estate investor who relished a business deal and was deeply thankful for the many partners he worked with, Lawrence spent countless seasons sharing the joy of hunting with his compatriots, beating everybody (including his grandchildren) at cards, having deep conversations and getting the best deal at the grocery store. He wore his title of Emeritus Member of the Fowl Feathered Friends with pride bringing repartee to the field and camp. In every situation he never missed a chance to talk about how Jesus had changed his life - or to offer a strong opinion on how things should be done. Always found with a book in his hand, Lawrence lived his life boldly, dealing with adversity courageously, and loving his family and friends fiercely. He married his love, Delpha, in 1987 and they created homes wherever they lived that welcomed family and their many friends with open arms and good food. Their legacy of connection and love will live on because of the many lives they touched. Survived by his daughter Jami (Rick) Day, son Lee (Mara) Amiot, his deeply loved grandchildren Laura (Brad), Grant and Abby, the light in his eye great granddaughter Emersyn, brother Spence (Pam), sister Carol and nieces and nephew and many friends. Preceded in death by his cherished wife Delpha, son David and parents Phyllis and Lawrence Schram. Memorial Service Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 4 p.m. with visitation one hour prior at the Washburn-McReavy Eden Prairie Chapel. Private interment Chanhassen Pioneer Cemetery, Chanhassen, MN. In lieu of memorials, the family asks that you share a laugh and good conversation, read a great book, spend time in the field or the blind, take a walk, play a game of cards and, most importantly, point someone to Jesus as he always did.
