LaVonne Anne Johnson (Schwichtenberg) October 14, 1928 to April 7, 2026 LaVonne Anne Johnson (née Schwichtenberg), age 97, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2026, in Golden Valley, Minnesota. Born on October 14, 1928, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She grew up in Waconia, Minnesota. LaVonne lived a long and fulfilling life marked by her love of family, creativity, and community. LaVonne was the beloved wife of Wayne Johnson, with whom she shared many cherished years until his passing. Together, they built a life centered on love, hospitality, and shared endeavors. LaVonne played an integral role in helping Wayne and his business partner Roy establish Proper Vent, a successful business that became a testament to their hard work and ingenuity. A woman of many talents and passions, LaVonne had a deep appreciation for beauty and artistry. She was an avid flower gardener who cultivated stunning gardens that brought joy to all who visited her home. Her artistic spirit extended to oil painting and sewing, where her creativity shone brightly. Music was another cornerstone of her life; she played the piano beautifully and shared her gift by accompanying church choirs at Calvary Lutheran Church. Her involvement with the church also included working with the Calvary Pre-K program, reflecting her commitment to nurturing both faith and education within her community. LaVonne's home was a haven of warmth and hospitality. She took great pride in creating a beautiful space where family and friends gathered for countless holidays and special occasions. Together with Wayne, she hosted these celebrations with grace and generosity, leaving behind treasured memories for all who attended. She is survived by her son Kevin Johnson (Brenda), daughter Leigh Anne Clark (Dennis), grandchildren Joseph (Rachel), Jared (Rachael), Larissa (Jeremy), and great-grandchildren including Ruby, Wyatt, and Cora, sisters Joan Felt and Iris Heinen and other family members and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Otto and Anna Schwichtenberg, husband Wayne Johnson and granddaughter Veronica Clark. LaVonne's legacy is one of love, creativity, and devotion to those around her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her. May her memory bring comfort to those who loved her. A Memorial Gathering will be held on April 15, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Glen Haven 5125 West Broadway, with memorial service at 11:00, followed by a luncheon. Interment at Gethsemane Cemetery. Memorials in lieu of flowers can be given to Second Harvest Heartland, The University of Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, or an organization of your choice.
