Kevin Woodrow Sayre

Kevin Woodrow Sayre of Bloomington, MN passed away on January 30, 2021 at his home in Woodbury, MN. Kevin was born in 1952 to C. Woodrow and Joyce K. (Lindahl) Sayre in Sycamore, IL. He graduated from Sycamore High School in 1970, and the American Institute of Banking and UW, Madison School of Banking in 1974. Kevin was grateful for his early banking mentors in Port Washington and Rice Lake, WI, before joining Norwest Bank in Red Wing in 1980 and eventually relocating to Norwest Leasing in Minneapolis. In 1990 he started Transport Equipment Finance and later formed United Capital Partners, Inc. in Bloomington. For over 40 years Kevin truly loved the partners and clients he worked with and served. Kevin loved his country and held in high esteem the men and women protecting our freedoms and safety. He was a wanderer at heart and loved to travel, greeting everyone he met with a big smile and a warm hug. He studied history and the people and cultures of the past, while always making time for the present, sharing many meals and stories with new friends everywhere he went. He appreciated art, architecture, design, music and good cuisine. Kevin loved his time in Arizona and at special cabins in Hayward, WI and Grand Rapids, MN where he could be found on the water or by the fire telling scary stories to the kids. He was a private pilot and lifelong aviation enthusiast. He loved to golf, watch old movies, Nascar and the Chicago Bears; but most of all he cherished being with family and friends. Those who knew Kevin will smile when we say that he was a force to be reckoned with… and he will be remembered as a generous, intelligent, and energetic spirit with an abundant sense of adventure. Kevin felt blessed and lived life with a positive attitude, an unwavering faith in our Lord and enduring hope for humanity. He was loved by his wonderful family and friends and treasured their every visit, especially in 2020. “I have summoned you by name; you are mine.” Isaiah 43:1 Kevin is proceeded in death by his father, Woodrow, special aunt and uncle Jean and Marvin Peplow and special in-laws Robert and June Acheson. Survived and deeply missed by his wife, Mary Beth (Acheson); son, Zachary (Rebecca Roberts); daughters, Traci (Ken) Anderson and Cortnee Hansen; his mother, Joyce; grandchildren, Tesla (Nick) Prigge, Dillon Noreen, Levi, Lexi and Caitlin Anderson, Kaylee and Mason Hansen; great grandchildren, Aiden, Alydia and Adison Prigge; special cousins, Jim (Arlene) Peplow and Michael (Jana) Peplow; many incredible Acheson/Passard family “outlaws”, his dear friends, and Lily, his loyal Sheltie companion of sixteen years; all of whom he loved beyond measure. A private funeral service will be held on February 12, 2021. Interment at Lakewood Cemetery.
