Kevin Mark Bjerke

Bjerke, Kevin M. Age 52, of Golden Valley, peacefully passed away February 5, 2024. Survived by his wife Brenda, his children Taylor Joy and Brady Chance, his parents Cyrus and Kay, brother Brian and sister Kimberly. Kevin was known for his generosity, optimism, drive, influence, positive nature and deep connections with anyone he encountered. Kevin endeavored many obstacles once he learned that he had Cholangiocarcinoma cancer on July 15, 2020. He went through exhaustive rounds of chemotherapy treatments. Kevin was later introduced to doctors working on new treatment approaches and was approved as patient number seven which included a liver transplant. Taylor Joy generously donated 70% of her liver to her father on July 19, 2022 which blessed the world with another 15 months of life before he passed. Kevin was born in Korea and was abandoned at five years of age. Cyrus and Kay enthusiastically adopted Kevin. Kevin was enormously grateful to his parents who gave him opportunities that otherwise would have been out of reach. Kevin and Brenda met in elementary school, became best friends and have been married for 33 years. He was a loving, caring and devoted husband and father who always supported Brenda, Taylor and Brady as his very top priority. As a family, they had fabulous experiences and built even deeper bonds while spending time together traveling to many places around the world. Kevin's last vacation was a dream trip to Africa in October, 2023. Kevin joined the Marine Corp in 1989 assigned to Signals Intelligence and Electronic Warfare. While in service, he received several medals including the Kuwaiti Liberation Medal and Southwest Asia Service Medal. He spent the last 27 years at his dream job as Senior Regional Vice President for Riversource at Ameriprise Financial Services. He was proud to have been frequently recognized for his work and has numerous trophies in his office for his results and leadership. Taylor and Brady will have Finance degrees upon graduation from college because of the positive influence and teachings of Kevin. A funeral service will be held Monday 2/12 at 11am with visitation 1 hour prior at Calvary Lutheran Church 7520 Golden Valley Road, Golden Valley MN.
