Kent Todd

Kent Eugene Todd, 78, died peacefully on December 13, 2024, in Burnsville, Minnesota. He was born July 2, 1946 to Orville and Lorraine (Scheusner) Todd in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He attended school in Sioux Falls through his junior year of high school. In the summer of 1963, his father accepted employment in Minneapolis, Minnesota and the family moved to Bloomington, Minnesota where Kent graduated from Bloomington High School in 1964. Kent attended the University of Minnesota, graduating with a BA degree in 1969. Kent then attended William Mitchell College of Law and received his Juris Doctor degree (JD) in 1973. While attending college, Kent had fond memories of working in the sports department for the Minneapolis Star and Tribune. His professional career started with working for a private law firm out of Rush City, Minnesota. After a few years working as an attorney, Kent began employment in 1977, working as an administrative law judge for the State of Minnesota for what is currently the Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED). He was a member of the National Association of Administrative Law Judges where he served as president from 1987-1988. Kent retired from DEED in 2012. Kent was father to Ross Todd. He was proud of the man Ross became and was saddened by Ross' sudden death at a young age. He dearly loved his parents, admired his older brother, Larry and enjoyed growing up in Sioux Falls. His youth was filled with many memories of his extended family and taking family vacations across the US. Kent resided in Woodbury, Minnesota most of his adult life, loved the family dachshunds and enjoyed many cruises. Kent was preceded in death by his parents, Orville F Todd and Lorraine F (Scheusner) Todd; son, Ross William Todd; and brother, Larry Todd. Kent is survived by his sister-in-law, Judy Todd; nephew, Gregory W Todd; niece, Deborah Bunnell; and great nephews and great nieces. Graveside Service: 11 AM, Friday, April 25, 2025 at Washburn-McReavy Dawn Valley Memorial Park, 9940 Bush Lake Road, Bloomington, MN.
