Kenneth Anthony Yarke

Yarke, Kenneth 'Kenny', age 86 of Coon Rapids, MN passed away June 22, 2024. Preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Rose; his wife of 38 years, Annie, followed by his second wife of 16 years, Betty. He is survived by his siblings Marvin (Shirley) Yarke, Wayne (Sheila) Yarke, Gordy (Jean) Yarke, Davy Yarke, and Sharon (Dick) Breitbach. His children Debbie (Dave) Baum, Randy (Gina) Yarke, Cheryl (Mike) Black, and Becki (Jay) Glanz. Betty's children Robert Kemmetmueller, Lynn Kemmetmueller, Donna (Jerry) Wintz, Judy (Jeff) Schnurr, and Grandchildren Abrielle and Adam Schnurr. Kens Grandchildren Cody (Erika) Baum, Dalton Yarke, Darrah Baum & Steve Poons, Kendra Yarke, Emily Black, Lexie Baum, Sam Black, Jacob Glanz, and Josh Glanz. Numerous nephews, nieces, and special friends. Kenny was born October 9,1937 in Milwaukee, WI, where he spent the first 11 years of his life. He grew up in a small, rural farming community where he met his wife, Annie, before moving to the cities where they raised 4 children. Following Annies' passing in 1998, he met and married his second wife, Betty, where he gained 4 stepchildren. Unfortunately, Betty passed away as well in 2016. Some of Ken's life's pleasures included golfing, family vacations which include Osakis, camping throughout Minnesota, spending time at the lake with Annie & the kids, singing and playing guitar, hunting with his brothers in Wyoming, and square dancing with Betty. Although he had many pleasures in life, one of his greatest passions was leading a life worthy of gaining entrance into heaven. Ken provided for his family through a strong work ethic that included a long career at Gresen, followed by a career in real estate, which afforded him an opportunity to move up to "God's Country" (Outing, MN), before working in security which included the Basilica. While Ken's absence on this earth is painful for us, he led a life filled with joy, laughter, and rejoicing. Ken touched so many people throughout his life, including the entire service industry, through his wit and humor. He will be greatly missed and waiting with open arms at the gates of Heaven. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service. Funeral will be held Wednesday, June 26, at 10:30 AM at The Church of the Epiphany, 1900 111th Ave NW, Coon Rapids. A luncheon will follow service and interment. In lieu of flowers, donations for funeral expenses are greatly appreciated.
