Kelly Renee Hill

Hill, Kelly Renee (Underwood) was born on November 22, 1961 in Minneapolis, MN. She was the second child of Arlene (Mayfield) Underwood and Clarence Christopher Underwood III. She graduated from West High School in 1979. She was faithful, true, and very proud to be a Northsider. Kelly proudly served 17 years active duty in the United States Navy Reserve and received an honorable discharge. She served in Operation Noble Eagle and Operation Enduring Freedom; she was stationed in Guam and Bahrain among other locations. Her final ranking was SK1. Kelly earned the following medals: Armed Forces Reserved Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Overseas Service Ribbons, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Naval Reserve Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation. Kelly loved to cook, eat, and held the best summer pool parties and holiday parties for her family. She LOVED her family and spending time with her "babies" (her granddaughter and great nieces). She was a gifted accountant and often assisted family members with their taxes and other legal matters. She was a fan of watching CNN, the Price is Right, Young and the Restless, and Scandal. Kelly was best known for her incredible and unmatched inner strength. She was preceded in death by her mother, Arlene "Gan Gan" (Mayfield) Underwood and her father, Clarence Underwood III. Kelly's precious and unforgettable memories will be cherished by her daughters, DeRelle Morrison (Tyrone Morrison) and Brianna Hill; her granddaughter, Ohana Morrison; and her best friend and partner, Charles Ray Stringer. She also leaves behind her siblings: Jacquelyn Underwood-Smith (Dallas, TX), Kevin Underwood (Mpls, MN), Janèt Villagomez (King Villagomez) (Atlanta, GA), Janice Underwood (St Paul, MN), Georgia Underwood-Wright (Kristopher Wright) (Maple Grove, MN), Clarence Christopher Underwood IV (Mpls, MN), Leondria Jett-Rhea; her nieces, Shanece Logan (Dajon Logan), Lily Larson; nephews, Rob Winder (Yer Winder), Sharif York, Kristopher and Kingston Wright; and her great nieces, Journey, Zoe, Sophia, Nia, and baby Logan. Kelly was deeply loved by a host of family members: The Underwoods, The Hills, The Morrisons, The Stringers, The Grigsbys, The Brights, The Timberlakes, The Carters, and many others. Funeral service 12 noon Tuesday, June 4 at Speak the Word Church International, 515 Jersey Ave S, Golden Valley, MN 55426 with visitation 11:00 AM. Burial at Crystal Lake Cemetery in North Minneapolis.
