Kathlyn "Kathy" Marie Vilendrer

Kathlyn Marie Vilendrer (Kremer), lovingly known as Kathy, passed away peacefully at home on May 2, 2025, at the age of 70, surrounded by her family and prayer. Kathy's life was cut short after a courageous and prolonged battle with cancer. Her boundless generosity, steadfast dedication to truth, and visionary spirit continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. Kathy was born on January 26, 1955, in Princeton, Minnesota, to Art and Marge Kremer (Halley). She graduated from Robbinsdale High School and earned a Bachelor's degree in Education with a Minor in Theater from the University of Minnesota, where she also met the love of her life, Kent Vilendrer. The two were married for 46 years and raised three beloved children: Steven, Stacie, and Stephanie. A woman of many talents and deep dedication, Kathy began her career as an elementary and gifted education school teacher before co-founding a successful medical device testing company with Kent. A passionate lifelong learner, she earned three Master's degrees-in Education from Minnesota State University, Mankato, Business Administration from the University of St. Thomas, and Holistic Health from St. Catherine University. She accomplished all this while raising her family, running a business, and giving generously of her time to her children's many activities, with a special devotion to her first love-the theater. Kathy devoted her life to serving others. Her passion for holistic health led her to spend her retirement years learning and sharing knowledge with her friends, family, and anyone in need. Kathy's dream was to create a health retreat in Grand Rapids, MN, where she and Kent spent much of their retirement enjoying motorcycle rides and boating on Lake Pokegama. Her playful, adventurous spirit was evident in every chapter of her life. Kathy is survived by her husband Kent; her children and their spouses-Steven and Ellie Vilendrer, Stacie and Nick Benavides, and Stephanie and Ryan Deppe; her six grandchildren-Leila, Shayda, Atlas, Cyrus, Maeve, and Keira; and her siblings-Fritz (David) Kremer, Margie Dahl (Kremer), and Nancy Kremer Lopez. A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 14th, at Pax Christi Catholic Church, 12100 Pioneer Trail in Eden Prairie.
