Kathleen Margaret Wright

Kathleen Mary Margaret Wright, age 52, Deephaven, MN, passed away in her home June 12, 2002 after a long and courageous battle with Scleroderma. Preceded in death by mother, Margaret Jane Wright. Kathleen is survived by her husband, William Messerli; daughters, Gia Barlage of Denver, Colorado and Neysa Barlage of Deephaven, MN; step-children, Kurt (Cindi) Messerli of Scandia, MN, Kay Messerli (Ross Clapcott) of Wellington, New Zealand, and Eric (Anne) Messerli of Evergreen, Colorado; her father, Paul V. (Marcella) Wright of Santa Rosa, CA; brothers, Jay (Kathryn) Wright, Paul Wright, Michael (Catherine) Wright and John (Jane) Wright of Santa Rosa, CA and Tim (Helen) Wright of Sebastopol, CA; and all her loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. Kathleen served on the Board of Trustees at Breck School where her contributions for the many years of service will be valued forever. She was Director of Public Relations for the University of Minnesota Landscape Aboretum and served on the Board of Trustees. Futhermore, Kathleen was appointed an Honorary member of the Arboretum Foundation Board of Trustees. Kathleen was one of the founders of the Minnesota Scleroderma Federation, later to become the Scleroderma Foundaton of Minnesota, a branch of the National Scleroderma Foundation. In addition, Kathleen participated in the Minneapolis Institute of Art Docent Program. Kathleen was born in Santa Rosa, CA, where she graduated from Ursuline High School. Kathleen earned a B.A. in Painting/Graphics and English from the College of Notre Dame; a degree in the Art Center College of Design, Los Angeles, in Graphic Design, Packaging and Advertising Design. She also attended the World Campus Afloat Program, Chapman College, Orange, California. Visitation Sunday, June 16 between 5 and 7 PM at Washburn-McReavy Edina Chapel, W. 50th St. & Vernon Ave. at Hwy. 100, Edina, MN. Memorial service at Breck School, Chapel of the Holy Spirit, 123 Ottawa Ave N., Golden Valley, Monday, June 17 at 10:30 AM. A reception to follow. Services and interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Santa Rosa, CA, Thursday, June 20 at 3 PM.
