June Rose Anderson

June Rose Anderson of Roseville, Minnesota, died on February 4, 2023, at the age of 92. She was born on March 18, 1930, at her parents' home on the family dairy farm near Long Prairie, Minnesota, to Marie and Julius Trumble, the first of their two children. She graduated from Long Prairie High School in 1947. In high school, she played the French horn, was a majorette with the marching band, and was homecoming queen. After high school, she attended Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota, and graduated with a bachelor's degree. In Spanish class, she met Bob Anderson, whom she married in 1950. They were married for 72 years. At first, Bob and June lived in Pine City, Minnesota, where Bob taught in the local high school and June worked at a variety of jobs. After a few years, they moved to Minneapolis. They eventually bought a house in Columbia Heights, Minnesota, where they lived for most of their adult lives. Starting in 1952, June and Bob had three children: Steven, Kathleen, and Wade. June devoted her life to lovingly rearing the children. Once grandchildren and great grandchildren arrived, she delighted in spending time with them, and they adored her. June was a tireless volunteer at church and with other organizations. June and Bob were members of, first, Grace United Methodist Church in northeast Minneapolis, and, later, Salem Covenant Church in New Brighton. At church, she taught Sunday School and vacation Bible school and sang in the choir. She took pride in being the oldest volunteer to entertain children while their mothers participated in MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers). She was a student of the Bible. June kept notecards of Bible verses that were meaningful to her. For many years, she participated in Christian Women's Club and served as the coordinator of her chapter of that organization. When Kathleen was young, June was very active as a Girl Scout leader. June was a loving wife to Bob, who died one month and one day before she did. She was also predeceased by her parents, her brother Alfred Clair Trumble, her brother-in-law Roger Berglund, and other family members. She is survived by her children Steven (Annette), Kathleen, and Wade (Jennifer); her grandchildren Michelle, Sara, Kyle (Erin), Will (Addis), and Alex; her great grandchildren Olive, Edith, Jayda, June, and Josie; her sisters-in-law Doris Berglund and Janis Trumble; and many other family members and dear friends. Services will be held on February 16, 2023, at Salem Covenant Church, 2655 Fifth Street N.W., New Brighton, Minnesota 55112. The service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Lunch will be served at the church following the service. Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery at a later date. Memorials are preferred to Salem Covenant Church or to The Ebenezer Foundation.
