Judy Ann Hammer

St. Louis Park - On February 25, 1941 Judy Ann Hammer was sent down from the heavens and started her life on Earth. Early this September, our loving Father and Judy's youngest son, Marty, embraced her with open arms and guided her journey back to heaven. Judy peacefully passed on at the age of 84- comfortably at home surrounded by family- "exactly where she [wanted] to be". Reuniting her with her mother, Eunice, father, Hugh(Red), brother James and son, Marty, along with her beloved companion Bob. As she always did in life, Judy will be forever watching over and checking in with all of her friends and family "just to see how [we're] doing". Including, but most definitely not limited to, Daughter Michelle Beaudry, husband Steve, grandchildren Louis Schwartz (Emily), Trevor Schwartz (Jordan) and Hunter Beaudry. Son Michael (Anne Parker) , and grandchildren Benjamin, Brady & Georgia and their mother Monique. Judy graduated class of 58 from Washburn high school in Minneapolis. She started her family in the early 60's and in the mid 70s, she shifted from housewife to single mother of three- never once complaining of the struggles that were bestowed upon her. "It's okay" and "We're okay" was her go-to phrase. She never let her children feel like we didn't have much, for we always had all the love in the world. Being a mother and grandmother was her superpower and she cherished every second of it. When able you could usually find her on the floor playing with the kids or taking them somewhere. Her gift of love was often on display as she became known as the keeper of the "Hammer hotel" taking in many of her friends and her children's friends in their time of need, some for a week, some for years. She loved being around people, especially "her" people. Everyone who knows Judy Hammer knows that her life cannot be properly measured by words and stories in writing. She lived her life in a way with such a child-like joy, genuine love, and true compassion for people and the world that is beyond measure. Judy is and was the epitome of someone who people will not remember for what she said or did. Instead, we will all remember how she made us feel and be all the better for it! To celebrate Judy and the endless amount of love and life she shared with us- we will gather Sunday, September 28 from 2pm 4pm at Washburn McReavy Nokomis Park Chapel 1838 E Minnehaha Pkwy Minneapolis, MN 55418. Additionally, any friends and family that are interested are also invited to Sea Salt at Minnehaha Falls to continue telling Judy stories and sharing in each other's company.
