Joseph James Trost

Trost, Joseph (Joe) J. age 62 of Lino Lakes, passed away unexpectedly March 24th, 2024. Proceeded in death by in laws Roger and Jeanette Piatt and mother Patricia Trost. Joseph was a letter carrier for 38 years, retiring in 2022. Survived by wife of 29 years, Patricia (Patti Piatt); and daughter Jenna; Father Gerald; Siblings Mary, Chris (Butch) Nuhfer, Jerry Jr. (Angie) Trost; Sister in law Peggy (Steve) Marchiafava and family, Pam (John) Eckman, Penny Neadeau, Roger (Rachel) Piatt. He was a loved Uncle and Great uncle to many. As all of you knew he loved to golf, especially with his wife Patti. He spent the last summer on the golf course coaching her to kick butt playing in her women's league just so he could listen to her come home and share all the stats she has (longest drive/longest putt). Speaking of the golf course, our yard was always looking like one with his mowing and weed whipping rituals. His younger years were spent raising his daughter Jenna. He was her first catcher and made her the player that she was through the many lessons and Sunday workouts with only a few tears shed. Joe made every sporting event he could, but you wouldn't find him in the bleachers you would find him pacing down third base line when Jenna was pitching to ease his mind and not have the other parents hear him talk about the errors their daughters were making. His advice to Jenna if you have a daughter, you make her a centerfielder, avoid the stress of a pitcher. He was either wearing his mailman uniform or dressed head to toe in cougar then Husky gear to support the teams Jenna played for. Joe often went to visit his Father and they could talk for hours they were not only Father and Son they were good friends. Joe and Patti spent a lot of time with Patti's youngest sister Peggy, her husband Steve and their family that keeps growing. The four of them would go out for drinks, go to the casino, or simply meet for dinner. He was always grateful to get the invitation to their family events since it was just the three in his family. Joe loved to see and spend time with his great nieces and nephews, Ria, Booker, Miss Parker, Nora, and Jade. He was looking forward to meeting baby Dag to hopefully have another cheese head in the family. At family events you would hear him talking to Eric about the Green Bay Packers and to Tony and Steve about golf or football. When his family was asked to give a few words to describe Joe they came up with sincere, calm, positive, loving, supportive, reliable, loyal, gentle, warm, kind, easy going, and an emoji king, if you have ever got a text from him you know what that means. The memories we have of him are forever. He will always be in our hearts. Funeral service Monday April 1st 11am at Washburn-McReavy Glen Haven 5125 West Broadway Crystal, MN 55429.
